  1. They've been closing down at local stores for a few weeks now http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/a...cvDEEerPp0seFzA
  2. Get some geezer round who does damp stuff and see how much he says it'll cost to put extra vents in - or a builder could probably do it cheaper - You'll almost certainly not get anyone to insulate it for you as it's a gross job unless you take up the floors and do it. As for heating, I'm a miser and I'd not heat the house all the time.
  3. A house near me with subsidence has the ground floor sub floor filled in with - with various contractors doing bits - presumably moving all pipes and wiring out and putting in loads of asphalt type stuff - You'd have to speak to damp specialist/surveyor about what can be done -but having a damp pit under your floor means your house is going to be cold and damp all the time. You could increase underfloor ventilation to keep it dryer (The aussies have these amazing wind blower vent systems) and install underfloor insulation to create a barrier getting to the floors - chicken wire and various insulations including that silver sheet stuff and solid mass stuff - but again it's something you've got to get right else your floor could get wet and rot.
  4. She's got an aeroplane in that aunty mable thing. Love the wellies one. But she's in eastenders now! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0056271/
  5. And thats the source of your problem. Have a look under the floor and see what's going on. Chances are its very wet from the awful weather we've had this year. means your house is going to be permanently damp. Not sure what the answer is though - whether it's worth having it filled in properly.
  6. QUOTE Mr Naghshineh is talking to the retailer's banks. He is proposing a deal that would let him sell 200 of its 840 stores and use proceeds to give the remaining sites a more upmarket image. Mr Johnson is refusing to meet Woolworths’ largest shareholder, Ardeshir Naghshineh, an Iranian property magnate with a 10 per cent stake.
  7. If it happened in the UK what do you think would happen? I suspect it'd be dealt with very quickly.
  8. Turn heating off. Pack up. Move. Or thermals, no heating, open windows all the time and jumpers.
  9. Why have the thais not been run over with tanks yet or shot?
  10. A jumper and a blanket and then a tent are the cheapest ways. Put the tent up in the house.
  11. Is this another case of going into business without having written a business plan? Most banks wouldn't lend to you for business in the distant past unless you had showed you'd thought it all through and written it down. And a house is not and should never be a cash machine.
  12. He's bought in empty property exemptions hasn't he - to save anyone having to actually rent out their buildings for less than they feel they should get
  13. I think bionano will be the way. One quick compulsory "flu" jab and everyone is done.
  14. I bet that page gets a lot of attention from his mob.
  15. Nowt worth having at the big W apparently. 20% discount leaflet put under car wiper but nothing caught their eye. Either that or a its a boot full of pressies for me and they're not telling.
  16. He in theory made a profit but is a landlord so will rent it out. At least they're not short of people bold enough to go on the show still.
  17. You can leave your mobile at home. You don't have to have a mobile. Haven't they forced you to ID yourself when you buy a phone now?
  18. Dewsbury today Experienced chap went well over his auction budget. Could be on target for a loss. Shame.
  19. I've sent my lot there for something to do. I'll report back when they return.
  20. Is it the only them who have that email?
  21. Pick and spit. Don't do it! You mean the wrapped raspberry truffles? In small bars as well as individuals...
  22. Actually to save the UK economy we need to go out and buy british. If you can.
