Wage growth up to 7.3% (BoE wrong again!)

When do you think they will peak? I hope you're wrong tbh, I think 10% would be devastating for a lot of people. -

We got around 4% at my place. It was done at a set figure for all employees so the lower earners got a higher percentage than higher earners etc, which I thought was quite fair. -
Very good questions. I think BR might be around the same as now by then after rising and falling. So we are still looking at people who massively over borrowed going from 1-2% to 6-7% IMO. Wage growth is a factor, I don't think it can bail out those who are facing £400+ monthly increases. Guessing when we hit inevitable recession during this period as well firms are not going to be able to keep wage inflation going at current levels.

That seems realistic. Guess it depends how bad of a recession we hit and for how long. -

How long do you think we're looking at in your opinion? Where do you think base rate will be in 3 years time? -

His comment did not age well 🤣 -
To be fair if you’re not fixed at a lower rate then yes I agree renting is cheaper atm. And if you factor in you get more help from the government with housing benefit if you lose you’re job then definitely correct. I’m not so sure on rents falling, lot of BTL’s going to be selling up. Where I am in Dorset people are literally fighting over any decent place that comes up to rent already. Supply is very limited at least over my way.
