That does appear to be the post in question as I remember it, is that a copy you made at the time fossildog ? I read the thread at the time and I even posted in it. I was busy that day so I missed much of what happened afterwards. Shame really as it must have been a good one since it got deleted ! I have read 1929crash’s attacks on fossildog in the “What happened to” thread and here on this thread. I am no fan of 1929crash as it is but I think we have had an opportunity to see how he works on this forum. If the bold text quote is the original, 1929crash has been lying and so should apologise to fossildog. Although I admit 1929crash is not my favourite person here in his defence he had been posting for over 24 hours Friday / Saturday so his memory and reasoning may not have been at there best. fossildog I am looking forward to reading more of your posts here and I wish you would post more. Believe me you are not the only one to have contemplated this about 1929crash !

Although this appears to be addressed to me, you are making statements that do not seem to refer to any of my posts. I admit I hate Labour and what they have done to this country and me personally, but I am not aware of especially promoting another particular “team” as you put it. I wonder if you can quote me where I said these things please ? I have been unable to find them so far and I would be grateful if you could point them out to me. I have yet to find one of you who has the moral fibre to admit what they have done. Typical Labour man, “oh no it wasn’t anything to do with me”. Just like your leader, be a man and admit it ! We have had a leftwing government in this country for 11 years. Don’t try to pass the blame onto anyone else just accept the responsibility for the mess you have created. No Browns problem was that he was an incompetent twit trying to play a big boys game which he lost to the cost of us all. If the “right wing, free market phenomenon” as you say was such a bad idea why do you think the Tories handed over the best economy we have had for a long time to Labour when Labour got in ? Just trying to adopt and copy the policies is not enough, you have to be dynamic to the changing situations that arise. Labour just doesn’t have that sort of mental capacity and that is why they have made such a monumental mess of things during the last 11 years. Labour and you the Labour voter are responsible for damaging this country and wrecking the lives of millions of people for many years to come. The Lefties=Thickies was originally a joke between friends but more recently I see it is a factual statement !! Fortunately you are a dying breed now as Labour as a government are already dead. It seems every new generation forget how bad things get under a Labour government and are tempted to try them to the detriment of us all. Yeah same here, but I have yet to produce a good one ! I think I would go as far as saying that low interest rates are a sign of a weak economy not a good one as Gordon wants us to believe. I could never understand why that seemed to be something to brag about, “we have the lowest interest rates for (however many years he claimed)”. I would have thought the higher the better so he had some wriggle room but what do I know Gordon is much better at all this than me or you.

An excellent post ! Unfortunately in Gordon’s effort to please the stupid he has now made the situation worse. To compound things further he cannot put rates back up as he will be seen by the stupid masses to be causing more problems. It really was a very stupid short term gesture. What an idiot.

Unfortunately Vince has succumbed to senility recently when he asked for an interest rate cut during a high inflation period. He will be sadly missed.

Yeah, this terrifies me. My savings are not STR fund but just hard saving. I thought the BoE were supposed to be independent and only target inflation etc… Another Labour lie ! :angry: We could do with someone in the media pointing this out and sticking up for savers in all this mess. We hear plenty about why we should help people who have borrowed more than they should but nothing about the prudent people.

I have, I bet you knew that already though. How about Gordon addressing the nation, apologising for the mistakes he has made over the last 11 years as chancellor and then as self appointed dictator. He should then tell his followers (Labour voters) to apologise to everyone else in the country for their part in this mess and then in a rare act of decency from a Labour man take his own life in front of the baying crowd ? That would possibly be the best course of action in my opinion. The other involves a splintered fencepost and Peter Mandelson but it’s not after 9pm yet.
