What are you like? I bet £0 you don't like being called a fat german pilot either (avatar) £uck shake, spend £230,000 on a property in Bexley kent and rent it out for £1,000 per month you'd be earning more than £10,000!!!

I said I think you're a fibber. didn't say liar (that would be rude) so from the above post you have £275,000+ in NS&I (you put it in print so it must be true) I'll apologise if you send me your bank account details...

I think you're a fibber. I'm not starting an argument. I find it odd how people claim to be saving money while pi$$ing it down the drain. it's an old chestnut on HPC how much money they are saving paying a landlords mortgage. 1. firstly no one knows how far property prices will fall. which kinda hinges the whole argument on whether or not you are saving money by renting ! 2. sentiment is STRONG with the rental market. imo this fact will prop-up house prices. there are more forced landlords than forced sellers. 3. At what point will you buy back into the market, do you have a strategy based on numbers or a hope based on faith.
-
No you didn't. how much (in cash) have you paid so far?
-
How much rent have you paid so far ?
-
Gotta hand it to the rental market... prices people out - generating more rental demand - propping up prices.

If you hold on to gold for 3 years don't you have to pay 20% tax when you sell?

Why I Am Never Going To Own A Home Again

The average American moves 11.7 times in a lifetime. you do have a point, renters move more. But America has a pioneering spirit. http://www.census.gov/population/www/pop-profile/geomob.html -

Yeah, they won't build nuclear power stations in Cornwall because of it. those people are already swimming in high dosage of radiation. any radiational leak would energize radon gas further. As does electric pylons. -

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=coal-ash-is-more-radioactive-than-nuclear-waste A by-product from burning coal for electricity—carries into the surrounding environment 100 times more radiation than a nuclear power plant producing the same amount of energy. As a general clarification, ounce for ounce, coal ash released from a power plant delivers more radiation than nuclear waste shielded via water or dry cask storage. Every food has some small amount of radioactivity in it. The common radionuclides in food are potassium 40 (40K), radium 226 (226Ra) and uranium 238 (238U) and the associated progeny. I'm not gonna trade insults with you, but I suggest you do some research before you ducktape yourself in your home. I wouldn't worry too much about the wind direction, can't be as bad as the two nuclear bombs your country dropped on them. +1 -

Why On Earth Would The B O E Raise Rates
Once in a lifetime replied to Correction's topic in House prices and the economy
I don't know how accurate the below is, maybe someone's got a better graph/info. but a point worth thinking about during that time 'they' held rates low for so long the planet was having the biggest war in history, with all the economic complications that go with it. and still they ignored inflation and kept rates at 2%. year/inflation base rates held at 2% thoughout. 1952 9.2% 1951 9.1% 1950 3.1% 1949 2.8% 1948 7.7% 1947 7.0% 1946 3.1% 1945 2.8% 1944 2.7% 1943 3.4% 1942 7.1% 1941 10.8% 1940 16.8% 1939 2.8% 1938 1.6% 1937 3.4% 1936 0.7% 1935 0.7% 1934 0.0% 1933 -2.1% 1932 -2.6% 1931 -4.3% 1930 -2.8% I don't think it will matter. they will hold rates where they want.
