The Masked Tulip
Looks like they are finally moving to a position where they will buy, in the immediate future, something different other than the F-35 whilst keeping F-35 puchases, if ever needed, for sometime in the mid-2020s. The document is interesting is that it asks some basic, fundamental questions of any fighter supplier with regard to how best it would meet the needs of Canada. The F-18 Super Hornet looks the best contender with perhaps the latest variants of the F-15 having a chance. But the Typhoon cold get a look in. Worth a read. http://bestfighter4canada.blogspot.co.uk/

dgul
SU-35? Potentially a problem with getting spares.
Errol
Perhaps Russia could engineer a coup in Canada, and then arm the new Canadian government and persuade them to join a Russian alliance? I would how American would react to that? Presumably they'd be absolutely fine with it as they seem to think Russia should be absolutely fine with the US/EU engineered coup in Ukraine and subsequent NATO/US arming of Ukrainian forces.
