Female members of samurai families had similar issues. A male samurai committing seppuku would disembowel himself, with a second close at hand to cut off his head of if he faltered. A female samurai would slit her own throat, after tying her knees together to maintain a modest posture in death. Entrails are one thing, licentiousness something else entirely!
