In 1914, not only was the world about as globalised as it is now, but with the gold standard (and in any case far less monitoring) you'd have as much privacy..

As far as encryption goes..

Without the Internet, you still needed to physically trade stuff over a boarder though. It's much harder to stop this over border trade with virtual goods.

As for encryption, that's missing the point of bitcoin. The point is, you may not know who has the bitcoins, nor who they are trading with.

You can even have a brain wallet - that is, there is no 'file' for the PTB to find. How do you know if someone has a brain wallet or how much is in it? How do you know that they don't have more, even if you torture one out of them? Could you test/torture everyone?

Surely they would just freeze the EFF account and/or freeze transfers to it? That sounds a pretty tame threat, unless I'm missing something?

Yes that can be done - just like bitcoin exchanges can be (and already have been) frozen. But these are 'anonymized' money transfers - not bitcoin - which is not useful until it is converted to dollars or some other form of real money.

That site you posted just accepts cards and paypal. The state knows exactly who is paying what and when by these methods. How is this anonymous?

Also, as I said, you don't need to go to an exchange - you can trade bitcoins with anyone directly with cash. That is, you don't need to use bitcoin exchanges connected to the fiat money system. See here: https://localbitcoins.com/

There is a growing list of merchants/people who accept Bitcoins directly too - they are 'useful' in themselves and are considered as 'real' money already by such people. You don't need to convert them into fiat, unless you need to pay for taxes or some other demand for legal tender.

Bitcoin is not money. At best it could become a transaction method for System D. Converting it to real use is going to become increasingly difficult if its use becomes more prevalent (ironic situation - its success can potentially kill it).

'Stateless' corporations still only exist because of the rules enforced by states.

The image of globalisation currently peddled is a lie. It is nothing like 'Wealth of Nations' - style mutually beneficial trading, but a situation where corporations now rank above states and make their governments dance to their tune, with governments pimping out their citizens for cheap labour while working to preserve the assets of the elite.

As has been constantly pointed out here in a number different ways, the situation is completely unsustainable as any sort of 'world economy'.

Arguments as to whether this situation is the fault of evil governments while 'wealth creating' corps can do no wrong, or the other way round, are missing the point as clearly the situation only exists with the agreement of both.

WTO has usurped the power of the nation state in a viral way - using treaties to bypass Democratic means. There are a myriad or other organizations cropping up to do the same, throughout the world. Very insidious - one could say murderous in some cases.

Proof?

Considering that you are interested in free press, I assume you will find it interesting that Wordpress.com accept bitcoin payments for their upgraded services: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/pay-another-way-bitcoin/

At WordPress.com, our mission is making publishing democratic — accessible and easy for anyone, anywhere. And while anyone can start a free blog here, not everyone can access upgrades (like going ad-free or enabling custom design) because of limits on traditional payment networks.

Today, that changes: you can now buy WordPress.com upgrades with bitcoins.

PayPal alone blocks access from over 60 countries, and many credit card companies have similar restrictions. Some are blocked for political reasons, some because of higher fraud rates, and some for other financial reasons. Whatever the reason, we don’t think an individual blogger from Haiti, Ethiopia, or Kenya should have diminished access to the blogosphere because of payment issues they can’t control. Our goal is to enable people, not block them.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that enables instant payments over the internet. Unlike credit cards and PayPal, Bitcoin has no central authority and no way to lock entire countries out of the network. Merchants who accept Bitcoin payments can do business with anyone.

Sounds like money to me.

If you say so! :)

Why not contact Wordpress and ask them what percentage of their sales comes from bitcoin?

Here's another example - real world - I was in Oman at a shopping area on the coast. The electricity went down across the area for several hours. Completely. No electricity.

Did this stop commerce? No.

Most shops stayed open. Coffee shops were selling water, canned drinks, cakes etc. The most difficult aspect was buying. No cards could be used. I happened to have a lot of change - coins. Made it possible for several customers to buy stuff. I was happy to exchange these with customers and the shopkeeper to facilitate things.

I found this experience highly enlightening as to what money is. Suppose I had gone to the shopkeeper and said "I've got this usb stick with bitcoin, will you sell me some cakes and some drinks?"

What do you think the response would be?

Wishful thinking, really.

When the shit hits the fam in earnest it'll be statism all the way. Good luck doing the globalisation schtick once the borders go back up.

Next up once benefit slaves don't work is price controls.

Let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth (Psalms 83:18). :P

Matthew 12:25

Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.

A classic example has been displayed to fill part of the picture - Bankers let rip on populations with no restrict have "laid waste" to our country - banker-bust + millions made unemployed.

Now we have Zionist City puppets taking out their (ahem, predictable to some) mistakes on the rest of the UK population, whilst they keep their bent systems ticking over!

Oi Oi

The UK Zionista-Masonic-Rothschild Puppetry Manifesto

The Yank knob flying over to UK to ******** with Cameron is a publicly proclaimed Zionista terrorist.

(Cameron (A David ) proclaimed himself 'Jewish' (but his mother isn't )

Don't believe me

- a third of the USA overseas defence budget is given/spent on Israel

(forced on the US population by the crafty zionistas who are in control (as in the UK premier leaders)

(You do not have to be a jew to be a zionist - think MURDOCH all from the Synagogue of satan)

Bible also says similar message to

- until God calls a halt to wars and "tribulations" there is no peace in rotating parts of the World

- any bull-Sh@tting, mis-leading, EU orocrat/Globalist, wealth-monopolising, fatcat telling you otherwise (eg EU=Peace when civil war and population revolt have already started in Greece/Iceland/Spain etc) is a Liar/RAIL

Think about it - blooming amazing!

Matthew 24:6

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
