Take Me Back To London!
I see on coininvestdirect the price of a 2012 UK silver Britannia is £24.18 net and £29.02 gross. A Canadian maple is £22.05 net and £26.46 gross when delivered to the UK. However, if the country of delivery is changed, for example to France, the prices for a Britannia are £24.18 net and £25.87 gross. A Canadian maple £22.05 net and £23.59 gross. A big saving on the VAT on silver bullion coins if one has a European address which can be used for deliveries. The savings being £3.18 on a Britannia and £2.87 on a Canadian maple. Don't hang around as there are yearly limits that do expire quickly. It is a quite a saving on the VAT by taking delivery to a European mainland destination. It is 100% legal to do, as mentioned in the highlighted text below, and to take your purchase back into to the UK, as you have paid the German rate for silver bullion coins. However, coininvestdirect have certain yearly VAT limits, once the individual import limits to these countries are passed, you can only buy at the local VAT rate where you take delivery. There is also the option at anytime of picking up the coins in Germany or arrange for a courier to pick them up on your behalf to be eligable to pay the 7% VAT rate. Plus the £30 collection fee for amounts upt to 50kg. Order Collection in GermanyUnlimited amounts of silver coins at 7% VAT subject to collection in Germany CoinInvestDirect.com is now offering its international customers within the EC the opportunity to collect orders in Germany. Silver coins can then be purchased at the German VAT rate of 7%! As a mail order business we are subject to Article 34 of the EC-guideline 2006/112/EC and the therein established quotas which limit the international sales of VAT-liable goods. This guideline is, however, only applicable when we ship the goods to our clients. The quotas do therefore not apply when the goods are being collected or if the buyer instructs a courier service with the collection in Germany and the shipping. With this in mind we are offering the following options: The full details are at http://www.coininvestdirect.com/en/order_collection_in_germany.html Edited November 19, 2012 by Take Me Back To London! Number79
If you buy 100oz then a drive from the south east via eurotunnel to germany and back is paid for from the vat savings so is break even. Anything over 100oz is all gravy. Dont know what a courier would cost to have them collect on your behalf and deliver to the door - but it would take more trust and faith than I have.
