Charlie Don't Surf
Looking through my usual RM search there are big drops on around 20% of the properties. I got bored after page 5 - there are 170 properties in total. Plenty more had smaller reductions but here's a list of those in the 10% range 1. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29424341.html ( '£550,000' to '£475,000') 2. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-11659479.html ( '£795,000' to '£695,000' ) 3. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-21331064.html ('£780,000' to 'Guide Price £625,000') 4. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-25552663.html ( 'Guide Price £950,000' to' Offers in Excess of £850,000') 5. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/new-homes/property-27076906.html ('Guide Price £595,000' to 'Guide Price £549,950' ) 6. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29037989.html (Guide Price £595,000' to 'Guide Price £555,000') 7. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-26657014.html ('Guide Price £900,000' to '£825,000' ) 8. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-23006641.html (£650,000' to '£599,950' ) 9. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16780872.html ( '£425,000' to '£395,000') 10. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-24951046.html (Was originally £550K, now £480k) 11. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-15574968.html ('£575,000' to '£535,000') My search: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find.html?locationIdentifier=OUTCODE^2664&sortByPriceDescending=true&minPrice=250000&maxPrice=1000000&savedSearchId=5069922&minBedrooms=4&displayPropertyType=houses&radius=5.0&oldDisplayPropertyType=houses&propFeature=Garden&propFeature=Parking&partBuyPartRent=false For the record they still ain't selling! Cherubium
The obvious problem with searches like this is that they exclude houses that have sold. If a bunch of people put houses on at silly prices and they don't sell, so what?
Charlie Don't Surf
The obvious problem with searches like this is that they exclude houses that have sold. If a bunch of people put houses on at silly prices and they don't sell, so what? Not a problem with my search. I check every day and know most of the properties. Not much selling at all - admittedly most is overpriced crap, anything that is any good does sell eventually.
Butthead
While falls in prices are to be cheered, it's worth noting that all those houses are pretty ordinary and in an area where the average wage of a local person is likely to be less than £25k. To see them advertised at £500k levels is insane, and I suspect Cornwall has much much further to go.
