Frank Hovis
That's just desperate, reminiscent of pre-regulation cigarette advertiisng. Japanese government bonds should probably have a health warning as well.
AvidFan
Edited: I'd take the one on his left, if she came with a 15K deposit. Much better than NS&I index linked savings certs. Edited June 13, 2010 by AvidFan

plummet expert
The pimping of Mammon. Pimping your economy for nearly 20 years does not look so clever now! Have you all read the article! Over 50% of Jap govt tax receipts are needed to pay the interest on Govt BONDS. Me thinks there is certainly a crisis coming there. No possible way to have that amount paid back, let alone serviced much longer. It si amazing that the bond markets have not stopped this already. Apparently it is only becasue the Japs buy a very high proportion of their own bonds that it has got this far.
jonpo
The return on jgbs is much better tan the equities over the last few decades should be an easy sell
Laura
The pimping of Mammon. I once bought what I thought was a jar of marmalade labelled similarly. Not in Japan though. I now carry my reading glasses when I go shopping.
