Brown Goes Beyond Economic Collapse

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown says "major progress" has been made at the G8 summit after world leaders agreed to halve carbon emissions by 2050.

Last year's G8 would only "seriously consider" a 50% cut in C02. On Tuesday it said it would "consider and adopt" the goal in an international agreement.

Mr Brown said the deal was "beyond what people thought possible".

But Greenpeace said tough targets were needed for the richest countries to slash emissions in the next 100 months.

The prime minister told the BBC: "The change at this summit is that all countries have agreed a 50% cut in emissions by 2050 - the first time we have agreed this."

Does make you laugh. They keep making targets that get missed so the solution is really tough targets but years in the Future. All we know is that by 2050 the UK will be an economic basket case due to Brown.

UK talks one of the toughest but in reality is years behind countries like Germany that produce far more as well.

If there is a 50% fall in global GDP then he will probably hit his target.

"Gordon Brown halves carbon emissions and saves the world (twice)"

They obviously chose the wrong man to solve the Middle East problem. I'm looking forward to him curing cancer and finding a way to make gold out of base metal.

Man-made climate change might bea bit of an iffy subject, but the using up of finite resources isn't. Yet politicians seem fixated with the unproven climate change issue when they completetely ignore the 'when it's gone, it's gone' message.

I don't discount the climate change theory completely, but the effect that human activity has had is unquantifiable because it cannot be separated out from any possible natural climate variation that might have just coincided with the rise in C02 emissions.

I read this yeaterday, i dont think we are too far away from cracking how to get energy from electrons, when we do the global warming argument still allows government to tax you on what is unlimited and free energy.

"If you consider all the energy in the full kilogram of water, which also contains oxygen atoms, the total energy equivalent is close to 10 million gallons of gasoline!"

Roll up, roll up.

Marvel, as before your very eyes, you are not only stripped of your home, but also of your energy using workplace, by The New Game.

Banksters? Finding you don't have enough money to bathe in for several lifetimes? Property market not so lucrative?

Try Carbon ******** Bingo.

You took their houses, now take away civilisation entirely by taking them back to the ox and horse.

And only you, yes you, can laud over these peasants as a God with whatever you desire.

But beware the axes.

No connection with the Goldman's inspired Carbon Trading Market then?

No mention of escalating population growth in the developing world?

No mention of peak-oil?

Nothing at all.

The Mighty Gordon just wants us all to enjoy the Undeniable Right to clean air.
