  4. Good point. Yes i tend to forget about the Property Pal results.
  5. Sale agreed figures down to just over 200 again. I wonder why we aren't getting anywhere near the 800+ drops like we used to? Time of year? People being stubborn? Market turning ?
  6. What will £3.5m buy you - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6558701.stm .....A beach front mansion in the bahamas, a private island in Kingdom of Tonga or a house on the malone road.
  7. I think the Nationwide monthly UK figures are due tomorrow. Or am i wrong?
  8. You and i are in a very similar position bobby. I am also lucky enough to have a substantial deposit, (and i think we are a similar age) but hyper-inflation and the fear of a bank collapse scares the hell out of me! I wish this crash would hurry up so i could afford a nice home for me and my future wife!! In my area there are still people asking £170k for dingy mid terraces, so we still have a long way to go until i can get a reasonably priced semi or detached. I'm getting impatient!
  9. Yeah i keep trying to tell myself this but just lately i've been getting the feeling that people's general opinion is that the housing market is on the way up again. Its just the usual bel tel rubbish, and the likes of the front page of todays Daily Express but it has been kind of unsettling me. I think the general sentiment is going to be that prices are going to recover soon. It may not cause house prices to go up (because of the current lack of credit), but it could hold the whole thing up even longer. I want to be buying a reasonably priced house at the end of this year FFS!!
  10. Should we be scared that a lot of the population are of the same opinion as your bank person?
  11. Thanks for that Nemesis. I'll go for 350 this week.
  12. I have a feeling this has been asked many times before, but does anyone know how the sale agreed figures shown by BelfastVI in the last few weeks compares to figures during the boom (ie 2006/7) and before the boom (ie 2001)?
  13. Can you please copy and paste the text? You need to sign up to FT to view that link.
  14. Sale agreeds up around 260 again. Rather high value sale agreed - http://www.propertynews.com/brochure.php?p=TRLTRL53937 And i notice it states what the 'current offer' is. Never saw that on PN before.
  15. According to the Bel Tel's top 100 NI companies magazine they employed 5,226 people as of 2008.
  16. A couple of articles from yesterday's newsletter. (sorry if already posted) "Housing Crisis? But thousands lie empty." "Property prices still out of whack with economy"
  17. Yes unfortunately Michelin seems to be having a rough time at the moment. It used to be the factory only closed on christmas day, new years day, easter monday and 12th of July, but i have heard they got over a week at christmas and are off longer than usual at easter. Not a good sign.
