MattW
Repo ex council flat being advertised by two different estate agents, both with different offers. Of course it is likely that the mortgage holder will want the higher offer. William H Brown Estate Agents are now in receipt of an offer for the sum of £64,000 for 53 Lefroy Road Howards Estate Agents are now in receipt of an offer for the sum of £55,000 for 53 Lefroy Road, A few weeks ago, Howards (I think) did have an offer of £67k for this very flat a few weeks ago. I guess the prospective buyer has pulled out.

There are NO offer`s ,just one EA thinks they can find a bigger fool than the other I have seen the same game being played with the price going down from 100kish to the low 80,s with many we have offer`s of x£ in between, then eventually they have sold at auction for a fair bit less than the last supposed offer

See that happen on Homes Under the Hammer sometimes. Offer rejected, eventually property goes to auction and is eventually sold for even less than the original offer! Travisher
Thing is, EAs don't take a repo off the market until contracts are exchanged - for no other reason than they can get away with it. They often specify buyer completes in some ludicrously short time scale all the while risking that the whole thing will get passed to another buyer. Reposession banks and their agents have absolutely no scruples. If you think EAs are all sharks, think of repo specialists as the great white of the business. Also note that a repo sale price is not publicly visible on the land registry.Supposedly to protect the 'market' - all the VIs more like.
