Migration
IMF’s damning verdict on Ireland
The IMF report indicates that Ireland is facing an unemployment rate of 10% in 2015. I think that will lead to considerable movement of labour from Ireland to the UK.

By that reasoning, so should the UK population. You can’t expect a country with 50% state sector and a benefits culture to magically become an international powerhouse.

Don’t see why Irish people would immigrate to the UK particularly, unless the UK economy has recovered better than Ireland’s by then of course. London is the exception as it’s a global city so will probably recover before the rest of the UK and will always attract immigrants from everywhere, including Ireland.

I think most Irish people know that the British economy is fecked as well and for pretty much the same reasons. Canada is probably the least worst option for emigration so I expect the Canadian Embassy in Dublin as well as the High Commission in London to experience an upsurge in applications.

Although we have been critical to the Silky’s (and Crash’s of course) insane economic policy to turn this land into huge casino, in reality this policy has been effectively introduced by the Snatcher in the form of ‘the Big Bang’. This long-term inter-party strategic deindustrialization initiative has systematically scrapped UK manufacturing. Students of engineering and mathematics have been replaced by the students specializing media studies (for developing an army of property charlatans) and hospitalization (giving you the great know-how for effectively pouring wine.)
Reversal of this trend is the first issue to be addressed.
