OzzMosiz
Just emailed HTV News to do a story on why HPI is a good thing News, I would be most interested if you could do a story on why House Price increases is a good thing as I believe it isn't. It is constantly reported as "good news" that house prices increase, but why? It only benefits someone who either has more than one home, or someone who is downsizing. It does not benefit anyone who is trying to move up "the ladder" or someone trying to purchase their first property. Anyone who has a house that has increased in "value", but does not intend on moving or selling does not benefit from it whatsoever - they will still owe the same amount on any existing mortgage, and to borrow from any increase in equity only puts them into more debt. If you would like to hear any further comments about this feel free to get in touch.

curious1
Here's an interesting question for someone here to answer.... What percentage of the population actually benefit from rampant HPI? ie how many people have multiple properties, or are downsizing?
