Whether he was part of some grand conspiracy to boost secured lending on property or whatever won`t be of much interest to the bulk of the public IMO, and although some people might realise that they have been herded by the media etc. into a bad financial situation (someone in mortgage trouble in a recent link here was blaming the government for "leading then on" regarding HTB for example) many will just blame Truss/Russia/Bailey/Trump/Brexit etc. etc. for their financial stupidity and never see the light.
