Those with no outstanding mortgages or with very low loan to value will be buying and selling to each other, fewer transactions.......selling for less but also buying for less, not a bad thing....less debt will be required so overall will be saving more.......helping pulling prices down for everyone.......what is there not to like.;)

Been watching houses still selling in our area for months, hoping to upsize. Asking prices still drifting up, even the dilapidated junk sells eventually. Keeping an eye on land reg for houses we viewed months back, price paid a little lower than asking but not much. How? Salaries in reasonable commute no where near cover these prices. Assuming it must be boomers moving with no or low mortgage. Also told by agents that some sold last year and living in rented accommodation while searching. Can’t imagine there will be more of these types around in 6 months, or hope so anyway.
