Jessica Bateman, who works at a shop in Cabot Circus and pays rent to her mum for their home in Horfield, said: "I am so ashamed of him. That family seems to be living the life of Riley, when my family works hard to earn a living and can't afford half of what they can.

"They go out for McDonald's meals that cost £60 a go and yesterday one of Joanne's daughters had a stretch limo ride for her 13th birthday.

"If my dad can ride that motorbike he has in his back garden then he can sit on a till somewhere. It is just pure laziness."

That's just the point. The working poor are so badly off compared to the free money brigade. It takes quite a bit of moral fortitude to slave away in some low wage job when you know full well you could increase your whack by playing the benefits system.

That's why reducing the rent paid by the government is such a good idea, instead of the period where people have no

place to live which is never going to happen because they have no choice, they have to live somewhere if only the street.

The government take away the benefit and the landlord can either kick them out or take the new amount of money.

I NO THIS FAMILY, AS OUR KIDS GO TO SCHOOL TOGETHER. JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE, HOW CAN THEY WORK WITH LOOKING AFTER ALL THE KIDS AS WELL. THEIR JOBS ARE CARING FOR THEIR CHILDREN. It's not directly relevant but.....

I have a relative who works in social housing.

This relative tells me that almost without exception, people begin working in that field with left-wing socialist ideals, but these are eroded by years of dealing with freeloading scumbags, by the time they leave to work in another field they're often quite right wing.

Interesting, I worked a part time job with a bloke who had ditched his job working in social housing in London after he became seriously dissillusioned with the above.

He told me the final straw was arranging housing (despite his protests) for people he knew full well were working the system, properties that were far more spacious and substantial than the place he himself was struggling to pay the rent in at the time.
