laurejon
Gordon Brown will shortly be heading off to Copenhagen to save the world yet again. The remedy like all of New Labours remedies is higher taxation to solve the problem. Not widely known is the fact that figures released from Government departments indicate that sea levels will rise in the UK and subsequently reduce the landmass by over 35%. In addition crop failures will abound and there are serious doubts the UK will be able to provide food for its people. So one has to ponder the question. 1. Why has Gordon Brown over the past decade increased immigration by over 300,000 people each and ever year. The carbon footprint as he likes to describe it of a UK citizen is the production of 11 Tonnes of Carbon for each and every citizen. So for 300,000 citizens thats an additional 3,600,000 Tonnes of Carbon per year. If we count the last decade as an example then 36,000,000 Million Tonnes of carbon have been added to the UK footprint as a whole. If all immigration stopped today, then the additional carbon produced by the additional immigrants over the past decade, over their lifetime would require the entire landmass of the UK to be planted with forests, and that would still only offset 50% of the carbon emissions. So at Copenhagen is Brown going to announce that immigration into the UK is to be halted, that we are a small island nation that lacks resources and is overpopulated and heavily polluted due to ten years of unmanaged immigration ? Or is he going to tell the world that paying Al Gore more money via taxation will solve the problem ?

laurejon
Go to bed, you nutter! (If you're not a nutter, tell us where your first figure, 35%, came from.) The sea level is going to rise up to 12 Metres, which puts much of the UK back under water where it was many thousands of years ago. The prospect of doing nothing is simply not an option, its possible that the scientists are making it up and the Government are only interested in taxation and control of people. But to be on the safe side all immigration should be halted, we simply cannot afford the risk of tens of millions of tonnes of additional carbon being pumped into our atmosphere by new arrivals, not to speak of the predicted droughts, food shortages etc. Its very odd that the people who are leading advocates for Immigration are the same people who are promoting climate change theories, whilst flying around the world in Carbon Producing Jets filling their pockets with taxpayers cash. And the 12 metre figure? Edit: Where did that come from? Not to mention the derivation of 35% from 12 metres.

The guardianstan, they along with the rest of the media are pumping these facts out at the rate of dozens per minute. Its all pre Copenhagen propaganda and clearly shows that its all one big hoax. Anyway millions of tonnes of carbon production each year is a good reason to shut the doors on immigration forever in the UK, or is that Racist ? All bodies expand when they are heated, and that is true for the water that covers 70 per cent of the planet. The oceans are expanding - upwards. It is estimated this increase in volume will raise levels by 10-40 cms. • Melting glaciers and mountain ice caps - outside Greenland and Antarctica - are also adding water to rivers that flow to the oceans. However, these remain a modest source of sea-level rise. Possibly around 10 cms. • The Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets represent vast reserves of frozen fresh water. The former would add 7m to sea levels if melted completely; the latter would bring a further 60m rise to the levels of the world's oceans.

laurejon
Where does it say 12 metres? It doesnt, it says 60 Metres but like engineers like to exagerage things when making calculations scientists equally do so.

Bloo Loo
WHERE DID YOU READ 12 METERS? I read 60. Ive read just about every number in between over the years. do you support increasing the population with immigration?

And if we build a million extra homes each year, house prices will drop 90%.
