  1. Denver apartment operator sues Airbnb, alleging 'illicit subletting' http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2017/02/17/denver-apartment-aimcooperator-sues-airbnb-for.html
  2. Was browsing the Ch4 catchup earlier and came across this documentary all about airbnb. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/airbnb-dream-or-nightmare I thought it would mainly be about the usual horror stories from users and hosts but it delved that much deeper and led to other other website discoveries. Airbnb could well be changing the whole housing supply in our cities although the data at the moment only seems to be about London. I know we have touched on this previously (search function doesn't throw up much) and some posters on here sing their praised but it seems to me the platform is becoming a second platform for BTL letters to let without tenancy agreement achieve returns and sit on the capital growth for very little risk. Whomever wrote the code to extrapolate the data used by this website has gone to a hell of a lot of trouble.. http://insideairbnb.com/london/# Didn't Osborne stand up at the despatch box last budget and make things a hell of a lot easier for these shysters?
  3. http://news.camden.gov.uk/holiday-let-websites-worsening-the-capitals-housing-shortage-finds-report/ Interesting, given that just a few days ago the Greater London Council changed their laws allowing this type of short term letting. So it looks like the GLC and some councils are not in agreement.
  4. AirBnB is causing entire neighborhoods to become ghost towns, as landlords push out tenants to make way for overnight visitors. more here....
  5. London landlords accused of hijacking AirBNB website with thousands of short term listings. http://www.lettingagenttoday.co.uk/672-london-landlords-accused-of-hijacking-website Can see a six month AST being considered a 'long term secure tenancy' in the future as everywhere is let out as short term 'holiday' lets. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jun/20/buy-to-let-landlords-leasing-properties-airbnb-uk
