How many times do you want me to repeat that the commission do not start working on anything without the steer from people we elect. The people we elect are the ones who decide, the commission is just the grunt behind it. The power rests with our elected officials. You can vote for those people and vote them out if they steer the commission or vote for laws you don't like, just like the UK.

No we don't. You, like other brexiters are looking at it through UK nationalist glasses. The only way you can imagine anything working is the same as the UK. And despite admitting the flaws in the UK system you somehow want to impose them on the rest of Europe. The commission formulate laws at the direction of our elected ministers. Nothing happens without the direction and final voting of our elected ministers. I honestly prefer the EU system of democracy to ours because with ours you get the usual red or blue politicians writing laws that are designed to get them re-elected every few years, hence so much bribery to certain demographics and awful outcomes for us.

I could be wrong, I don't know the order that things will happen or what the next year holds. But I think I can see how Boris works. He lies without remorse so he's either lying in the video or he's lying to the EU in order to get things over the line and doesn't intend to allow customs checks (or will try to fudge them).

Landlords regret investing in buy-to-let

Actually, if you don't take the 25% tax free lump sum then this gets bundled into your withdrawals. I presume you won't go for an annuity because they're awful these days. So if you withdraw periodically, you get 25% tax free and the £12500 tax free allowance. If your needs are £30k pa, I think it amounts to something trivial like £2k tax. Edit: Yes, checked, if you have no other income. See here: https://www.which.co.uk/money/pensions-and-retirement/pensions-retirement-calculators/pension-tax-calculator-af1sc5u1y9mc -

Absolutely agree. The salary sacrifice is such a benefit that I'd be surprised if it can continue. And your post above highlights something very rotten about our tax system, which is stealth taxes. Go a penny over a threshold and suddenly you lost child benefits or other such benefits, which effectively means the money has to come directly out your pocket, which amounts to the same thing as paying more tax. I hate that system. Everyone without qualified special needs (disabled and other cases) should receive equal benefits. If they want people to pay more, add it onto the tax rate instead of means testing which is just a way of hiding what is happening from a gullible public. -
The Commission - is appointed by our elected ministers, as you'd expect. Not a directional decision making body. They formulate laws at the direction of the council. The Council - depends what you mean because I suspect you don't understand. The Council of the EU consists of our elected ministers and is the second main decision making body after the European Council. The European Council - consists of our elected heads of state and meets to decide the main direction for the EU, steering "The Council" The European Parliament - Elected MEPs. Votes on whether to enact laws or send them back for further revising. Holds less power than "The Council" or "The European Council". So, the EU consists of democratically elected officials at all layers and the ones who decide the direction and give the mandate to the commission are elected. The EU is in fact democratic but doesn't conform to brexiters narrow minded views that all democracy must look exactly like the UK, where ironically we also have unelected officials deciding on our laws and we have a political system that continually elects governments representing the minority of the people. It is pure nationalist hubris. As usual, brexiters are lying. And this has been debunked over and over and over again. You simply will ignore it and continue to post your lies again, because you have no interest in the truth.
