Hi i posted about 3 months ago saying my friend had just bought a house and i had tried to talk him out of doing it,well he phoned me up today and said i told you the papers said my house has gone up 1% i didnt have the heart to tell him how they work that out, but it goes to show if he thinks that how many others do!

  5. Hi , just got back from my accountant,he seems to think intrests rates will drop next year thats another one! He says that the economy wont grow as fast as Charlie Brown has predicted so he thinks they will drop the intrest rate, he also told me, whatever you do dont buy a property, his brother is a EA , last year when i see him he was telling me to buy somewhere, he also said its not a good time to buy a new taxi,oh well just thought i would give his opinion hehe.
  6. As usual no one said that there will be a crash, just a slowdown , lol cant believe no one speaks the truth, was it like this on the last crash i cant remember, spoke to a customer in the taxi last night he said he's whole life revolves around the equity in his property, a crash will have a massive effect on his life, they was just months away from there first child, this could well have a big effect on the economy, more than what we think maybe.
  7. I have been looking at alot of properties in Essex, but the sellers are not droping the price's .How long untill we start to notice the drop in price?

  10. Hi Rockdoctor i am sorry to hear about your dad being made redundant , i am trying to word this in a way where it doesnt offend people, but i do have friends who have been made redundant in there 30s with 3 chidren who have been offered jobs of 15grand and with 3 children it goes nowhere. There are alot of people in this position.
  11. This goverment have built up a feel good factor for alot of people at the middle to otp end of the scale , and forgot about the lower end of the scale .Its like when they say house prices are 5 times peoples salaries, thats the middle of the scale they are more like 8/10 times the bottom of the scale, and these are people who worked just as hard as anyone else but are not as fortunate as others.
  12. Yeah both if you dont take the jobs they offer you within 6 months your benefits stop.
  13. I would think most people on this site are on a decent salary. There are alot of jobs which dont pay well i have friends who earn 18/20 grand a year and have 2 or 3 children , its called living in the real world.
  14. Thats what they do and have done it for a long time. They say after you dont take them jobs you dont want to work.
  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3738784.stm Hi when i see this it drives me mad,i have friends who have been claiming benefits and have been offered low paid jobs, they havent taken the jobs because they have families and need more money . So after six months they kick you off unemployment benefit and then class you as working even thou you are still unemployed.Another lot of labour fudged figures!
