  1. Has anyone got a link or a piece of software that will make it easy to work out how much a set depreciation in house prices (%, monthly) will make to final mortgage repayments...or a link to a mortgage calculator that tells you how much in total you actually have to pay back. I'm renting at the moment and as house prices are dropping it would be nice to be able to see how much money i'm saving by waiting, and how much more..or less.. this amount is than my rent.
  2. I'm shamed... not only am I lazy, sickly and overpaid I aid terrorism too with my ineptitude. I suppose it's the Registar Generals fault for coverting working class occupations up a few notches so we can mince around with the ruling class who have subjugated the hard working and honest house buyers all this time. Here's an idea...lets disregard this piece of research on the basis that some public sector jobs do and should get more pay than private sector jobs...and that the term "public sector workers" is so massivley vague that's it's immpossible to draw any useful conclusions. Also whilst i'm on the subject...as you'll all know...an awful lot of immigrant workers are working in the NHS..because not enough british folks want to train to become Nurses....guess why?....because they don't get paid enough. There is also a large amount of immgrants training to become Nurses only to get the qualifications to move into an IT course.
  3. It really is all too vague for words. There are so many questions to ask about this "research"...never mind if it's all managers why is there a picture of nurse, fireman and a police officer? They are the face of public sector workers, how can you compare their roles to private industry? And if people think it's so easy to work in the public sector and pay and conditions are so good, why don't they go and work in it? Might be able to afford to buy a house then.
  4. Sold in the "SOLD" sign attached to the house. I'm aware they can fall through, but I found it interesting how many were "FOR SALE" for fgn ages, in the space of a couple of weeks they've been replaced with "SOLD"...and by several estate agents...both local and national. I only say what I did see.
  5. 1-did that, they'd already instructed solicitors...may fall through though! 2-we offered full asking...wasn't enough..house now sold....and we're chain free.
  6. Me and Mrs Poospoon have been cautiously observing our local market (Harrogate and surrounding villages) since Feb this year. All has been quiet, with houses remaining on the market right through spring....then all of a sudden..over the last couple of weekends they've all been sold! (well all the nice ones we can afford) We even put in a couple of reasonable offers on a few houses....with other buyers offering full asking and estate agents trying to get us into a bidding war!! What is this madness? Does this mean that there is a recovery in the market and that at the end of July EA's around the country will join as one singing "we are the world" and house prices will shoot up even futher and us hesitating doom-mongers will be left floundering with in a nation full of happy home owners. ...or is it just a few houses and it means nothing?
  7. Hoooray! I thought you were all random interwebfanati-nerds...but now you're real!...doing things in the outer-world...This HPC thing might happen after all.
  8. Where? I live in Harrogate and I haven't seen them. For all those who know Harrogate you'll know there's a mass of estate agents near the centre of town...want to put bets on which will go under first?
  9. 1) Private 2) £700 3)2 4)North Yorkshire 5)190,000 (tell him he's dreaming!---funny if you've seen "The Castle")
  10. That's quite bizarre..that's what i'm paying in rent...and that's exactly what my landlords doing !!!(after unsuccessfully trying to put up our rent) Do you know me?? Okay, so everyones a winner....... except greedy muppets.
  11. mmm, not sure on that one. Seven years of stagnation sounds pretty good. I think as long as FTBers keep hearing the markets safe they'll keep spending. It will certainly reassure those misfits who think there's going to be a crash And the sellers..they'll be happy as long as they dont have to lower there prices. Everyones a winner!
