  1. I am a first time buyer (they say admitting it is the hardest part ). I found this site some time ago by accident whilst looking on the internet for buying advice. It was a revelation as until then I was starting to doubt my own sanity thinking house prices would go down! Have recently been discussing starting a family with my GF so I feel the emotional pressure to buy increasing so reading here helps to bring me back to reality as we really can't afford to buy. I used to read as a guest but decided to sign up maybe just to add support of numbers to the site. I'm not sure I can add much to the site but continue reading with interest as feel I'm really learning a lot. One eye
  2. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-883...pa_n=2&tr_t=buy why does it have a cage on the door? is it a particularly rough area?
  3. "Should all rented accomondation be only allowed to be provided by the state or non profit organsations e.g housing associations ?" LOL can you imagine the number of homeless on the waiting list for a house?
  4. For what it's worth, awhile ago we went to look at a "bargain" house. We were not sure of the area. The EA said he couldn't give his opinion but gave us a no. for police crime stats. The lady was very helpful advising how many violent crimes in the past x months etc. It was very useful info as the area was a nightmare! - Sorry I can't remember the no. though.
  5. Thanks that makes sense. Do the lib dems gain anything by calling a leadership election? Is it just a way to push out Kennedy or get public interest or something?
  6. I don't know much about politics so can't see what game is being played. Can anyone explain in laymans terms what is being gained and by whom?
  7. Hi all Well I had hoped my first post would be for something more interesting, maybe a nice anecdote or something. I did not expect it to be one of disappointment. I believe house prices are going to come down (no choice really as I can't afford to buy even with what should be a reasonable deposit) this opinion seems to be quite outlandish so coming to this site was a refreshing change from all the nonsense I am hearing. However it seems to be getting censored so that any apposing views are not allowed to post. The truth is troll arguments are what I am actually hearing from people and seeing their comments so easily ripped to shreds is a very good release of mental steam as I find it best to bite my tongue in most situations as the people spouting it are usually friends and family and usually when I'm out numbered! If the site becomes a one sided discussion of how much houses will come down by this will become a very boring site (a bit like watching BBC1 but with a different VI ). Please think hard about this decision as a free forum is always going to be more interesting than a cencored one (see C4 forum). One eye
