Timil Posted March 17, 2008 Share Posted March 17, 2008 Don't know about everyone else but I am amused at the amount of times that a Talking Head can come on telly and say the latest actions by the BOE-ECB-Fed-Buffet-Dancing on Ice is just what the market was needing and will bring much needed stability, only for the backside to fall out of whatever they're talking about a few days later. Bear Stearns being a classic of the genre, a few days ago its liquidity crisis is sorted everybody move along nothing to see,then is sold at $2 dollars per share. The current Pinstriped one one on SKY Telly states theres a Crisis in Confidence Followed by the Banking System in the UK is extremely well run ll caused by a liquidity problem and a lack of appetite for wholesale banks to lend to each other and they've zipped up their pockets Everything he said was right but why wasn't he saying it months ago. If a Casandra comes on and says we're heading to hell in handcart its open ridicule season. Maybe we should have a thread for deluded Talking Heads blurting out crap. Yes, you can count the number of "don't panic" platitudes throughout the day and night. People who have no business saying "everything's fundamentally sound", ie: commentators, newsreaders, media types who regurgitate government and corporate spin, have the temerity to sit there and patronise viewers and listeners with this garbage which comes straight from the mouths of those who know full well that there is EVERY reason to panic.
