Bear Goggles
Egg shares fall on debt worries Shares in online bank Egg have fallen by 3.4% after a rise in its provision for bad debts took the shine off rising profits at its core UK business.Egg said sales of loans and insurance helped annual pre-tax profits for the 12 months to December rise 1% to a better-than-expected £73.6m ($140m). The firm said it would be tightening its lending criteria after provisions for bad debts rose 44% to £182.4m. Have Egg seen the writing on the wall? munimula
Eggs lending criteria smacked of being very relaxed when they gave me a credit limit of £10K on my credit card. Most other cards I get around £5K limit.
