It is different this time
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/consumer/bill...id=510&ct=5 Households face £1.3bn gas bill blowRobert Lea, Evening Standard 9 July 2007 Britain's households could have to find an extra £1.3bn because of controversial claims for cash by gas companies that will increase domestic energy bills. Not a good news for VI that will now have to find another excuse to brainwash British public as to how & why inflation will come down sharply. FernandoMorientes
I thought Merv and the BoE were insisting that inflation (or CPI as they say) would reach it's 2% target as it reflected the downward trend in energy prices??? Looks like it's all going seriously tits up for the muppets, with food oil and other energy and consumer prices taking a spike, I am wondering precisley how high IR's can go now anyone care to speculate? (My guess is 6.5% by spring but I am pinning a tail on the donkey I admit).
It is different this time
I thought Merv and the BoE were insisting that inflation (or CPI as they say) would reach it's 2% target as it reflected the downward trend in energy prices??? If Merv really thinks that inflation would come down to 2% without serious rate rises he is just deluding himself. He has the tool to kill the inflation he'll just have to use it instead of talking. Looks like it's all going seriously tits up for the muppets, with food oil and other energy and consumer prices taking a spike add to that 2m people will soon have a mortgage payment up to 40% higher than 2 years ago, the sh*t will hit the fan.
