Two thoughts: maybe they would have been right had it not been for the attacks on the WTC and the loosening of the money taps immediately thereafter. Also, if the Beeb were wrong then - why can't they be wrong now? Maybe they're not bulls, just inately conservative and conformist. Much like their audience.
