@contradevian
http://www.bournemou..._rundown_homes/ Buying up rundown HMO's. £850K allocated will buy .. five? I think its an excellent move, especially if they are offered on secure tenancies,so an area can recover from transient living BTL/HMO and AST blight. RufflesTheGuineaPig
Someone on the council is overexposed on BTL.
Mr. Piddle
Although I don't think making them into 1 and 2 bed flats really counts as 'family' accommodation. Needless to say this is only going to buy up a small section of an extremely rundown area and what family is going to want to house there kids there? It's still going to be full of drunks and drug addicts.
200p
If Dave Wells or Seven Developments don't want em, that says it all. Go the opposite trade to public money.

FIGGY
You know what they say about Seven...trying very hard not to make it eight in the downturn (the nasty restaurant may be the thing that sends them under)...

So, Bournemouth council tax payers allow the council to purchase empty HMO's, pay for the refurbishment and then they are rented out to council tenants AND 5 years down the line, these properties have been purchased at a discount by the said tenants, who then sell them on to make a profit or become BTL landlords. How does this benefit the council tax payers of Bournemout?
200p
Tax payers can see their property values go up, as run down properties are given a make over (sorry no benefit to renter scum, only higher rents as property values go up), and then when the council tax valuation people come round they can put your council tax up. Win, er win.
