fiddle Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 At the other end of the age range, English students tend to meet with hostility from the Scots at Universities there ( Stirling and Edinburgh are the two I've heard most complaints about), and they're not pushing up house prices! no but they push up the requirements for the places, pushing out some less achedemically endowed Soctts, and push up the rental costs in and around the university, because they can afford to pay more for crummy S^$t holes, which locals then can't afford to live in. making it buy to let heaven, and pushing out local non students too. having said that i lived and worked in scotland for a while and loved it there, no hostility at all.
