ravedave
I am trying to find a map which will show me where all the areas in Belfast prone to flooding are located - not just those lying on a flood plain as per the link in the thread at the top of this page. That link does not seem to identify which properties are at risk due to localised flooding as per the recent heavy rain conditions. Is there any way I can find out this information? Thanks. The link is in the pinned thread at the top 'useful info for housing market' here you are: http://www.riversagencyni.gov.uk/index/stategic-flood-maps.htm?Submit=View+the+Strategic+Flood+Map+%28NI%29+-+Rivers+%26+Sea Edited December 2, 2009 by sophia
ravedave
Am I missing something though: The primary aim of the Strategic Flood Map is to provide an illustration of the areas throughout Northern Ireland that are estimated to be at risk of flooding from rivers and the sea. The flooding which occurred recently in certain areas - was that not caused by insufficient storm gutters, overwhelmed sewage system, etc and not related to the river and sea? Sorry - it's late and I'm a bit tired so might be missing the connection...
