I picked up this movie in charity shop of all places, for £1.

It is a good documentary and shows the underlying flaw behind the Walmart business model. It kills the community which it hosts. A big parasite.

Wallmart's business model is Capitalism. Maximum profit for minimum outlay. Slavery was fundamentally a Capitalist idea.

Walmart are corporatists not capitalists, they destroy others for the sake of power and control with help from "outsiders".

Corporatism is a system of economic, political, and social organization where social groups or interest groups, such as business, ethnic, farmer, labour, military, or patronage groups, are joined together under a common governing jurisdiction to try to achieve societal harmony and promote coordinated development.[1] Corporatism is based on the sociological concept of functionalism.[2]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporatism

Capitalism is an economic system in which wealth, and the means of producing wealth, are privately owned.[1][2] Through capitalism, the land, labor, and capital are owned, operated, and traded for the purpose of generating profits, without force or fraud, by private individuals either singly or jointly,[3][4] and investments, distribution, income, production, pricing and supply of goods, commodities and services are determined by voluntary private decision in a market economy.[5] A distinguishing feature of capitalism is that each person owns his or her own labor and therefore is allowed to sell the use of it to employers.

Some consider laissez-faire to be "pure capitalism".[10] Laissez-faire (French, "leave to do [by itself]") signifies minimizing[11] or eliminating state interference in economic affairs and the competitive process, allowing the free play of "supply and demand". Laissez-faire capitalism has never existed in practice.[10][12][13] Because all large economies today have a mixture of private and public ownership and control, some feel that the term "mixed economies" more precisely describes most contemporary economies.[14][15] In the "capitalist mixed economy", the state intervenes in market activity and provides many services.[16]

We've played this game before. Capitalism is what Capitalist do. This ad hoc relabelling is tedious.

Same as socialism, fascism and communism. People have played this game for thousands of years and still we all kill each other over it, fun!

At least capitalism teaches you to defend yourself from state tyranny and hive mentalities. Problems are localised and personal and the individual suffers. Unlike state controlled systems where you have little choice and everyone suffers.

Life is the best teacher and we are all equally natures students.

Capitalists is the name for those who are currently acting as capitalists.

it's fairly simple - those who are currently swimming are swimmers, those who are walking are walkers, those who specialise in an area are specialists and those who are acting capitally are capitalist.

For some reason you think you can have a concept seperate from the actions it describes. You can't.

You are rather hindered in this line of argument as you definition of Capitalism is at odds with the one held to be true by the Fathers of Capitalist ideology; and just about everyone else too.

I didn't make any mention of what capitalism was.

i just corrected yout basic thinking error - that of making a concept higher than the actions it describes.

Your system of thought has peopel being capitalist when they are asleep or eating pizza. You are making "capitalist" into a status, not an action.

Given that, you must be wrong in whatever you propose, because such a basic error as a building block of thought must make the whole structure unsound. If you are right, it's by accident.

Unless the Capitalist has a fundamental shift in world view whilst eating pizza then he remains a Capitalist. Do you think Hitler was a Zionist when he was in the bath, or did he remain a Nazi?

Showing that all your concepts are completely divorced from actions doesn't actually improve your case.

It merely reveals you as generally unable to think.

Not answering the question does not do much for yours.

Not answering the question does not do much for yours.

There isn;t any question to answer.

Your basic position is nonsense, it can't be answered.

You asked me if hitler was a nazi in the bath. I can only ask a question back to you -

What actions make one a Nazi, and was he doing them in the bath?

Do people have a moral and ethical context to their actions? Or do we awake anew each day with a clean sheet?

Do people have a moral and ethical context to their actions?

yes, their actions in reality.

Or do we awake anew each day with a clean sheet?

Every day is indeed a brand new day.

Our past actions might not let others treat it that way.

Now answer my question.

What a surprise to find some simple logic in this script

A few years old now but this comes HIGHLY recommended. Shocking (but not exactly surprising) expose of big business destroying lives and communities in the US & abroad.

http://www.walmartmovie.com/

I found the most harrowing scene, of this in no way one-sided polemic, to be where they rounded up all the customers at gunpoint and forced them to spend their money there.

If they did just that you'd be parroting some convoluted defence of it.

Wal mart is sadly in bed with the state and uses some very underhand and dubious tactics to increase it's fiat money profits.

No one has to shop there though.

In the end they do as you end up with Walmart towns in which there is a Walmart surrounded by all the businesses it killed off.
