  1. WOW! Thats only about 2 miles away from where I live. Yet here Ive had not problems with crime even stuff going missing from gardens and the like.
  2. Well a little comment here. The house next to mine that ive been renting for a while now still hasnt sold been on the market one way or another for 6 months or so. Gone through a few agents and now back with readsreains again. Though it had been sold as the signs went down and were a few workmen there. But its been emtpy for a while now. Which is good as i can play my music as load as i like but bad as its colder (mine is an end terris). Anyway since the sign has gone up again i though I would have a look in the web site and see what they are after for it now and found this.. "REDUCED FROM £139,950 To £127,500 TO ATTRACT IMMEDIATE SALE - EXCELLENT VALUE" Which I think is the cheapst its been. Still cant afford it and its smaller then the house im renting next to it!
  3. I've lived in varios places in Linthwaite and Slaithwaite for the past few years and I have to say I quite like it. There is a bit of the small mindedness of people who have lived there for years but with more people who come in from out side like meself that will probably dissapate a bit. Ive been in the depressing situation of watching house prices dissappear out of the range that I can afford while I sorted out my credit history (dam credit cards). Im on a resable wage, probably more than most of the locals up here so gowd knows how they are paying for these houses. I could afford somewhere naff but I dont see the point of moving out of a nice house to pay more for a worse one. Id deffinately come up here and having a wander around places to get the feel for them.
  4. My Landlord tryed to put he rent up for my place from £400 to £450 a month or so ago. We had meen here for 18months so that would make an incress of 8% per year! We had appied to a 12month contract but dessided that with that incress we would look to get some where elce so told the agesnt to swap to a month by month one and we were going to look for some where to buy (I know) or some where elce to rent. A week or so latter the agent came back as saif the Landlord would drop the pirce to 412.50 if we agreed to a 6 month contract. Not realyt being wanting to move we took it. Id never tried negotiating a rental agrement before but it seems it can be done This is still about 60% of the cost of a mortgage on anything equivilent round here.
