I've no idea on the merits or not regarding those planes. I was replying to your apparent surprise at Americans selling stuff (any stuff!) whenever an opportunity arises.
As for "when the Taliban were the greatest threat to civilization" please stop - it hurts when I laugh that hard. 😉
I was reading 'The donkeys' by Alan Clark it is an eye opener
Our Soldiers want the Taliban as the enemy as they were using 'spear against 16 pounders' (the black and the tan)
Sandhurst must have gone into meltdown when Biden pulled the plug
We will have to buy some very expensive kit that actually works if we are going to take on the Russians

It was a civil war, they could only be 'conscripted' into Assads army or join some sort of resistance to an entrenched regime that had no conscription requirement.
I don't blame them for fleeing in that situation.
Yes, war is awful for both civilians and soldiers.

Why is that suprising?
"...the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world." - Calvin Coolidge
(often misquoted as: "The business of America is business")
Correct me if you think I am wrong with proof, the F-35 is a flawed platform It was produced when the Taliban were the greatest threat to civilization, It in no way cam match a peer competitor, it is slower than a F-15

even Hungary is against Russia.
Yes this I did notice, I wonder why
"reason above all"
Hungary significantly benefits from being in Europe, even though they pretend they are being kicked and dragged
I do wonder who China will waltz with..

If you haven't noticed there is a massive proxy war in Ukraine between the West and Russia.
We are not directly in this war, thank god, war is really painful, I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people
I have noticed a lot of pictures of hot Ukrainian women being bandied about to get red necks to go and fight against Russia and they might get one of these as a reward

If that is true and i kind of agree with it. What has happened is that europe has handed it to the US on a plate. The EU did not deal with Putin in the right way and they are paying the price.
The US is selling a lot of F-35 at some really high price

Why is it uncalled for. Many of them are conscription age men who effectively 'ran away', rather than fight for their country of birth and which they were happily living in till it all went to sh*t.
So what makes you think the'd be happier/readier to fight for Germany?
I recall seeing one too many TV documentaries about 'poor' Syrian refugees who were, often previously middle class backgrounds who simply had their career/life plans thrown up in the air and, perfectly understandably, fled to more comfortable pastures.
I was discussing this with my son and told him if we were in the Ukraine he would be conscripted
Thank god we live in the UK

The biggest winners of this Putin's mess are China and the US.

but whether it was intentional or accidental is a question for debate

Belarus seeks to amend its constitution to host Russian nuclear weapons
In December, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko went on Russian state television to offer to host Russian nuclear weapons on Belarus’s territory. This will be made possible by a little-noticed change to Belarus’s constitution set to come into effect on 27 February.

Ukraine confirms rocket that struck its airport was fired from Belarus - as its leader Lukashenko warns war will become a 'meat grinder' with his special forces poised to join Russian assault on Kyiv
Ukrainian intelligence services state a rocket attack on Zhytomyr Airport was launched from Belarus
Belarusian special forces were reported to be 'loading onto airplanes in preparation for an air assault on Kyiv'
Ukrainian intelligence believes Alexander Lukashenko is poised to declare war on the besieged nation
A potential widening of the war could signal Vladimir Putin’s growing fury over Russian effort

Sigh. I am but a lowly common worker, who by happenstance, has some rental properties.
I don’t worry much about anything, by dint of my meagre brain not functioning at the required clock speed for such. l was in Dubai last year, and learned about the restricted purchase zones.
How many (meagre) properties do you own?
@longgonewill get jealous if it is more than one

In which case will the (notoriously bumpy) Dubai housing market go sky high?
Bearing in mind many areas foreigners CANNOT buy, it’s reserved for Emeratis.
I think oligarchs are going to be scrutinised as much as a potential al-quadi member, where is your money from, are you pro or anti Putin
