  1. They were both on BBC Breakfast this morning ( re: Hells Kitchen) He was so arrogant about going bust - asked about paying back creditors -They were a SMALL part of the issue    watch from 5.30 mins http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/breakfast/8022518.stm Don't throw anything at the computer - They're not worth it I hope they have their credit withdrawn from under their feet, and end up knocking on the door of the local Housing Asscoiation begging for somewhere to live
  2. I offered £260K on a £290K repo house 6 weeks ago. ( I know , but I liked it) EA's reply- This house was on at £325 last year. and we had an offer of £310K. YES THAT WAS LAST YEAR. I explained all the usual, I'm a cash buyer, no mortgage needed, renting on an AST. Used all the evidence to back up my offer. Unemployment rising , Most economists predicting further falls, Then I got the reply - we had an offer of £275K which was accepted, but the buyers job went pop. So what They told me the bank would accept £270K so I offered £265K which was accepted. I then did some investigation, and it turns out the extension was built without planning and had to be approved through retrospective planning which was granted, but there is no building control certificate , so will have to be "regularised". Also the extension that was built has been changed from the plans which were retrospectively approved. I revised my offer to £250K on the basis that I would have to sort out the mess. They turned it down, it was way too low, and said they would have to remarket the property, I said OK, but my offer will remain, but I'm not going to sit back and wait. EA has remarketed the property, NO MENTION OF THE PLANNING PROBLEMS  (as I'm on their mailing list, pratt, even sent it to me asking me to ring to arrange a viewing if I was interested) they reduced it to £275K. So I put my offer in writing again. Waiting for reply. What advice can I give? Make a low offer, ( you can always go up) Put in writing, your financial position (not evidence), completion timescale Play tough, have facts to hand when they try to talk the market up Be patient, I'm sure this rollercoaster is still on the downward track
  3. Only problem is, it is unmortgageable and uninsurable. Bournemouth Council have said they are abandoning their efforts to shore up the cliffs here, so you're on your own. That said, if you can buy it for £200K, and it stands for the next 20yrs, that's cheaper than rentals in the area. Could always be used as a "cash machine" through holiday lets
  4. What are you looking for? I lived in Sneyd Park for 7 years. Great Location. My 1st property was a 1 bed flat in Goodeve Park - cost £20K in 1984, couldn't believe it when I sold it in '89 for £37K. Those were the days. Must be some repos due to come up in BS9. I'm sure there must be a good proportion of BTLetters who bought some of the many flats in the area. Maybe you just need to be patient.
  5. Well Kirsteeeeeeeee, I hope you follow in Phil's footsteps. On your website you state " We have done this place up for ourselves". Then it appears you have made it available for letting the whole of the next 12 months. If you can't afford to do it off your own back, perhaps you should get Mummy and Daddy to downsize. £2500 per week in May? you're having a laugh, let alone the £400 safety deposit to cover damages (for things you nicked from a skip or got some craftsman to make free of charge for the publicity). Plus £22 per pet?. I bet there's been many a dog that's stayed there!!!! Stop flouncing around and get on and eat your hat. We're all waiting.
  6. Perhaps you residents of Wales should start paying for your prescriptions, or if you cannot sustain yourselves, jump off the Severn Bridge
  7. My point exactly. I got off my ass and travelled 2 hrs to get to the G20 protest. I was peaceful but made my point, unfortunately there were not enough of us to make a difference
  8. EA's now quote anything South of Ashley Rd as Lower Parkstone. Historically it was anything South of Bournemouth Rd. I take great delight when an EA rings me with a " fabulous property in .............. Rd in Lower Parkstone and I then tell them that is not Lower Parkstone. They try to talk it up because of all the "trendy" bars that have opened around the green. The Cow will always be the Railway Tavern. Patricks still looks like a bank. Branksome is not Penn Hill Whitecliff is not Lilliput The list is endless
  9. This is the inside stuff Unemployed 6 months + /Disabled + claiming / New Deal claimant = 3 points Unemployed - 6 months / Disabled not claiming/ = 2 points unemployed not claiming/ employed but under notice of redundancy = 1 point Employed = 0 points each jobcentre has a monthly target and each staff member has a personal target so now you know why the phone went dead.
  10. I worked in a Jobcentre when this Govt. introduced "New Deal". The staff in my office used to bring in their old but still respectable business wear, for the New Deal advisors to dish out to jobseekers who said they had nothing to wear to interview. It stopped the shirkers using that as an excuse, and if they were genuine and took the clothes, it often paid off. Unfortunatley, this money crazed Govt. then intoduced expenses for New Deal and signed contracts with the Burtons group. The deal was that Jobseekers went to their local store and got kitted out for interview, and Burtons group invoiced the Jobcentre. Like every Govt. handout, this was open to massive abuse and still is
