I happen to make kitchens, studies, bedrooms, dressing rooms, etc for some seriously rich people in the Cotswolds, and they are always the ones who grumble most over quotes. No word of a lie, but Liz Hurley (by way of her womanservant) was kind enough to offer my workshop the opportunity to make her a kitchen. For free. This was about 6 months or so after she married the billionaire. I do hope they're happy. (We told her to Piss Off)

Hi everybody, another newbie here. I'm currently looking to buy in my small Glos hometown, and have had some interesting experiences lately. Not least the number of emails I'm getting from EAs telling me about the latest 'new instruction' on properties already on the market (reductions in the asking price). Over the last week or two, whenever I've checked my emails (every 3 days or so), there has usually been 4 or 5 of 'em. Mostly between 5 & 10% down. A few days ago, I happened to notice a bungalow that has dropped by 30k from 150k (20%!). I've been looking since the new year, and I must say that the level of service and attention I've received from local EAs has been extraordinary! Anyone would think they didn't have enough to do. Every day I get home from work to find missed calls and messages, brown envelopes full of house details, and emails. I regularly gets calls in the evening, upto 7.30 odd, get calls at 9am Saturdays and 3pm Sundays. Not to mention the lying and manipulating that I've been subjected to! "I'm sorry, Sir. You can't have an appointment to view the property this Saturday because I've already got 8 other people viewing it then". A week later the property in question had been withdrawn from sale. I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it or hating it! (Incidentally, and totally off subject, the time is 00.58 on the 27th Feb 2008 and, unless I'm very much mistaken, I think I have just experienced an earth tremor that lasted for about 10 seconds and made various objects hanging on the wall in front of me sway!!!)
