Anyone else?

Edit:

Tried Lloyds Business Account - Not doing any faster payments, no recognising any sort codes as valid for FP. BACS only.

Tried Halifax Accounts - Says payment will be processed next day and wont go by FP. Various people told me the same.

Not sure what they mean by "processed next day", does that mean BACS next day, so 4 working days I wonder.....

No faster payments showing going in to various Halifax accounts.

Yep! Was told cannot do faster payment today, money would move tomorrow.

It doesn't elaborate what way it will "move" or be "processed" though does it. Not good if you have a payment date

due tomorrow and it doesn't show up until Thursday now.

I will have a trip to the Nationwide.....

Don't let your credit file get a status "1" on it. It will screw you for at least 6 months and nobody will care if it is not

your fault.

Lloyds and Halifax now have a single system. So its down for both of them because they are the same system.

My Business FP just came up " payment will reach recipients account within the next 4 business days"....I could hand deliver a cheque quicker than that.

Phoned the help desk at HBOS to be told nobody was there due to the weather-ah well, never mind,I'm only trying to runva business and keep people employed!

No doubt someone will get a bonus for fixing the problem.

Finally made the news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21123618

The problem is that everything has gone FP for the last 6months + so everyone is probably expecting it to work..

Their press release says they have resolved it as of 17:00. Complete lie, no payments showing in and just tried a payment out:

"Unfortunately your payment won't go through immediately as a Faster Payment. Please only continue if you're happy for this payment to be processed the next working day."

There is no doubt a plethora of bonuses.

The guy who caused the problem has highlighted a shortcoming of the system so will get a bonus.

The public relations people are saving face with their excuses so should get a bonus.

The people who fix the fault will getb a bonus.

No doubt the total in bonuses will be somewhat short of the money earned by the bank for having everybodies cash for a while longer.

AFAIK faster payments has only applied during working hours anyway?

Faster Payments is available 24x7, I suppose a bank could choose to restrict their customers access, but that would be 1) weird and 2) legally a bit iffy, not in a go to jail way though.
