Guest Bart of Darkness
The report said using credit to meet everyday expenditure was a way of life for many young adults, with the difference between needing something and merely wanting it often "virtually indistinguishable". Sums up the "Spendaholic" culture that has grown (festered?) over the last decade.
Dubbya
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7128607.stm "Borrowing is a sensible way for 93% of people to mange their financial lives" Malcolm Hurlston, CCCS - does he really mean that debt is an invasive parasite, scabbing and oozing over your financial life ? Or was it a typo
right_freds_dead
maybe the bbc have realised that the next generation of fee payers have been priced out with the express help of their 6 year housing ramp fest, and have no stomach for either watching programs about property speculation, or paying for programs about property speculation. all i can say about my experience is that its opened my eyes to the power and control of the media. subtle. effective. silent. people love property but they dont know why or what house inflation is actually good for ? those bbc cocksuckers. make me sick. greenalien
Debt = Economic slavery for as long as the debt lasts. And they rush headlong into it like a bunch of lemmings.... High time the bankruptcy laws were tightened up, methinks. Wriggling out of your obligations after just a year is too easy, despite the social stigma and future credit implications. Ten years would be more reasonable.
