andrew_uk
When I put my house up for sale it was 1 out of 6 for sale on the street. I did everything to make it attractive including pricing it 10 and 13% less than 2 similar properties over the road. In fact the only cheaper house was a corner terraced (mine was a semi) that had been bought and done up for flipping/BTLing. Since then I've monitored the street via nethouseprices.com every few months. I sold in September 2004 for twice the previous ceiling price. It is a cheap and nasty street in a bad area. The street is quite large (100-200 houses) and yet more than 21 months later nothing else has sold. To me this proves the peak for poor housing was some time ago. I keep an eye on property and house keep selling but they all seem to be nice houses in good areas. The dross stopped selling some time ago.
