Andrew McConn whacked the vandal over the head with a bread tray after spotting him causing £1,000 of damage to his vehicle in Kilmacolm. The 66-year-old first offender was later arrested and spent eight hours behind bars before being charged with serious assault. But in an ironic twist, the man who trashed his vehicle was let off with just a warning letter.
