Thanks for the info. After the Nationwide news looks like I'll need to find a different straw to clutch at!

As many posters have noticed in the Land Registry figures there was a big increase in the volume of more expensive houses sold and a decrease at the lower end. This will skew the overall average price upwards. Does anyone know how to get hold of the raw data or a median price or an adjusted average price that excluded the top and bottom 15% of the market? I would be interested in some figures which showed what the bulk of the middle market is doing.
