  1. I wish he'd spare us and himself the humiliation and just make it all 4th June and be done with it. Its like an addictive gambler shoving pounds coin in a slottie, they know they will never win but keep saying "1 more pound, jackpots coming" but eventually they find the purse is empty and have to explain it to the missus who then cracks him over the head with a rolling pin.
  2. Thing is, do they continue on with the bad soap opera or cut it off at the knees now to ensure some seats left at the election. Thats what I, if I was in the labour hierarchy would be thinking.
  3. Blears? She always has that look like Deidre Barlow had after 20 years of shagging Ken. Like she's been stungunned.
  4. Ok somethings definitely up folks, Minister has not denied it. Labourhome and other places appears rife with rumour that a Cabinet Minister will rstand as a stalking horse candidate against Brown if he loses the expenses vote tonight and would also be prepared to trigger a Motion of No- Confidence, whichif called, several labour MPs would be prepared to vote against the government. Here’s the link - make what you will of it - whether it’s true or not isn’t really the point but it shows the deep feeling of disquiet with Brown in Labour ranks. http://www.labourhome.org/story/2009/4/30/33359/7218 I'm amazed Broon doesnt take the hint, not even your labour supporters want you. They are egging on a coup on your own website.
  5. If Brown is ousted then thats 3 pms in a little over 2 years and 3 pms in a single term (Blair up to June 2007, Brown 2007 to 2009, whoever 2009 -), i think its definitely valid that a GE would have to be called immediately.
  6. Jesus when your own party talk of you like this, you are finished. Bye Bye Gordon, dont let the door hit you on the as£ on the way out. from the westminister mole...... There is just one glimmer of hope among Brown's most despondent backbenchers. "I think that Brown could crack up," said one leading Labour trouble-maker. "Then we could get rid of him." http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/47275,news,t...nife-into-brown Brown is already being accused of losing the support of his own MPs over the question of expenses, having been forced into a humiliating retreat rather than face defeat in the vote tomorrow night. There are fears within the Labour Party that the coalition that Blair put together to win three successive victories is now breaking up. The plague of rebellion is spreading like wildfire. And it's begun to seriously infect the Blairites. It has been noted within the Brown camp that Stephen Byers and Charles Clarke, both long-standing Blairites, led the criticism this week of Brown on the 50p tax hike and the need to rein in spending, even by cutting cherished programmes such as ID cards and the replacement for Trident. http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/47262,news,t...f-labour-rebels I think the Blairites are seizing the mood to take Brown out. If it is a co-ordinated attack, expect it to culminate today.
  7. Its getting interesting Alex Hilton reports that an ex-Labour cabinet minister is ready to stand as a stalking horse if Brown loses the expenses vote tonight. Charles Clarke? If word has got round that Brown will be ousted if he loses tonight, i wonder how many will rebel? Also reported from comments over at Guido, That Pigsty Purnell is one of the ministers that will have to resign when expenses is published. Grab the popcorn today could be a good day for everyone.
  8. me thinks Guido kicked something off in the journalists in that they can take on Labour now, its theold thing in packs of dogs when the leader gets wounded by an upstart pup, the other all sense blood and move in for the top dog position and the old one gets toppled. The press are onto something big, you can smell it, it would seem in all honestly better if Brown called the GE before this hits the fan, thats what this whole expenses urgency is from Brown. He wants to be able to say "I've fixed expenses, no need for resignations now" before July.
  9. http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/comme...er-1676349.html Stunning It's all over for our Prime Minister (yup thats the headline) You know it is over when they laugh like that. Most of the noise in the Chamber of the House of Commons is uncouth and childish; it is also often manufactured, designed to harass and demoralise the other side. But when Gordon Brown headed for the exit after Prime Minister's Questions, and had to turn round, realising that he was supposed to making a statement about Afghanistan and Pakistan, the laughter from the opposition benches – and from some on the Government side – was genuine. It was because it was genuine that it was so cruel. read on.............
  10. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/polit...at-1676391.html Some senior Labour MPs speculated that Mr Brown could face a "crisis of confidence" if, as expected, the party gets a bloody nose in the council and European Parliament elections on 4 June. "People are starting to ask whether he should lead us into the general election," said one Labour MP. Another added: "We are back to where we were last summer" – when Mr Brown had to see off the threat of a Cabinet-led mutiny. Even some ministers admitted Mr Brown was making "too many misjudgements." One said the Government looked "out of touch". Since a successful G20 summit at the start of this month, the Government has been derailed by the resignation of a Brown aide, Damian McBride, over a plot to smear senior Tories, a hostile reaction to last week's Budget and a botched attempt to reform MPs' expenses. Today the Prime Minister faces another test of his credibility when the Commons votes on expenses. Many Labour MPs believe Mr Brown has mishandled the issue and there will be an all-party move to delay a decision until after an independent review of the expenses system reports later this year. That would be seen as a snub to the Prime Minister, who called today's vote but saw his proposed reforms run into strong opposition. Labour MPs are in an increasingly rebellious mood as Mr Brown's authority appears to wane. They have already forced Mr Brown to abandon his plan to replace the £24,000-a-year "second homes" allowance for MPs with a £150-a-day "clocking in" or attendance payment. Brown aides hope that yesterday's humiliating defeat over the Gurkhas will make a second defeat in two days less likely. They are preparing to argue that he would not be damaged if MPs kick expenses reform into the long grass because the public will know he backed urgent reforms to a system they regard as discredited. You wanna bet, he loses today, he's got the red sniper dot firmly trained on him. Does this sound to you like they are going to let Brown hang around much longer.......nope.
  11. as its relevant to getting Brown to resign, heres a fantastic update on MP Expenses which may just be the final dagger today at the commons vote. Looks like the press are onto something. Read the article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...se-affairs.html Love cheat MPs on 'suicide watch' as expense claims threaten to expose affairs Three Labour MPs are said to be terrified that the release of their expenses claims will expose them as adulterers and financial cheats. Four ministers are also understood to have warned party whips they might have to resign for abusing the system, when MPs' receipts are published before the summer recess in July. The three unnamed backbenchers are said to have been placed on 'suicide watch' by Labour whips, who fear they might break down when the details of their excesses come out. Two are understood to have had extra-marital affairs with other members of Parliament. Not only are they believed to have shared hotel rooms during annual conference get-togethers and party away days but also to have double-claimed for the rooms on their expenses. If both MPs have claimed for the bill they will be branded frauds as well as love cheats when journalists and freedom of information campaigners sift through their receipts. The third backbencher is said to have made 'grotesque' financial claims. .........the mony quote But with factions of MPs manoeuvring for concessions, the situation was described as a 'dog's breakfast' by one party tactician. Asked how the vote would turn out, the Prime Minister's official spokesman said: 'Your guess is as good as mine.' This ought to be interesting tonight, what will happen if Brown loses a second vote today after yesterdays humiliation.
  12. The great thing is, that Brown looks so so petty and vindictive on this, he looks like he couldnt have given a sh£t about the Gurkhas and the military is taking note. The public can see Brown does give two stuffs about anyone and that image of those old men with Joanna, Cameron and Clegg outside the houe of commons just cost Brown a mass of votes.
  13. How does Brown lose a vote with a maj of 60. Its a disgrace to bring this vote at all to the commons, it was a moral disgrace. Brown is finished, once you start losing votes like this, the govt starts to crumble because the backbenchers are in revolt.
  14. Browns in trouble, EMBARRASSING DEFEAT FOR GOVT. GOVT LOSES GURKHA VOTE.
  15. I've renamed Gordon, THE SINKABLE MOLLY BROWN on HMS Labour. We need to stick a few more rocks in the lifejacket to make sure the git stays under.
  16. nah ring him up and ask him has he lined up anything yet for after the election.
  17. Yeah its surreal, the whole of Labour want him to go but i think Brown is deliberately deciding he aint budging hence all the papers and ministers leaking stuff, theres a covert plan to get him out here. I just think Brown has been told to go but has said privately "if i you try to get rid of me, i'll make it all a living hell for you" its what Brown is. I honestly think there are two ways this could go, Brown could lose the votes in the next few days on gurkhas and mp expenses making it untenable for him or Brown will be ousted the day after the euro elections as it gives Labour a clear shot to say, you are an electoral disaster and you must state you will resign at the election, call a leadership election immediately, stay on as caretakeruntil the GE in October.
  18. I can see all those aides in No 10 going “you go tell him” “its your turn “no way am i going in there” “ok on 3, rock paper scissors” “oh no, crap i lost” “ok where did we put the padded suit, those nokias dont half leave a mark” “oh hang on here comes Harriet, harriet lovey could you give this to PM please, we’re in an awful rush, bye” Harriet enters and promptly leaves again by the window
  19. I wonder which poor bas£tard is the one going to have to be the one to tell Brown, probably pulling straws right now. 1 more printer for no 10 please.
  20. HAHAHAHAHA Brown, Up yours, let this sit for ages as the top petition until the toerag gets the message and let it be a constant reminder that the country hates you.
  21. Me too, me and the friends and family make bets every night as to what next from the Brown feck ups..
