It's not a nickname - a nickname is generally a term of endearment for someone that you know well. Not an ignorant stereotype of 100,000s of peope. It's never the words that you say, it's the tone and the context that you use them in. The poster is implying that people would prefer narrow minded bigoted people like himself to move down to the South rather than all those 'ragheads'. I find it offensive but then everybody is allowed their opinons. Just don't pretend that you're not being racist - you're calling a whole set of non-white people by the same term or 'nickname' and then saying that you're better than them.
As for 'it takes more than flying an England flag to be English'. Yes, it does, it takes pride in your country - which is not exclusive to the white master race. I'm not saying immigration isn't an issue, I'm just saying that sweeping statements judging every single immigrant as worthless and a problem, is not helping the debate.
