  1. I'd like to propose my current rental property an innocent enough starter home in itself, (the 1st photograph is the entrance to the mews) & it was a cheap rental for me when returning to the uk at the end of 2005 except this one has had no work done on it since it was built, there are no rear windows - as it backs on to a train line, although it does have the benefit of if you get lost at night, you can follow the red eyes on the top of the Landmann Way waste incinerator to guide you home http://www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.a...p;agentid=05371 price history for these properties (they're all the same) 2000 99k 2001 125k 2002 145k 2003 153k 2004/5/6 160-170k
  2. When I returned from abroad at the end of last year, the building site for this development was in full flow. But since March total shut down, there is the skeleton of 3 floors built, but completely deserted, & one of the cranes has now gone. http://www.o-j.co.uk/viewdevelopment.asp?adid=23 Whilst the 'art deco' design may look nice on the computer; the East London tube & trains from South Bermondsey to beyond run directly behind, & the swathe of green space & blue sky obviously doesn't give you the full SE London feel for the area. I suspect no ones been willing to put the money down, especially when a parking space is 10k on top. Especially as you are getting close to being able to buy a house for that money on the same road, not that I'd recommend 300k on this one, interesting use of paving stone in the garden, although I supose you could sell it as a parking space, whilst parking your own motor on the road for free. http://www.alexneil.co.uk/properties.php?i...ort=&price=
  3. I'm currently working in Vancouver, Canada; which is a very nice place. But you also have a real estate boom (highest prices in Canada), yuppies, consumerism, worst poverty in Canada (due to mild climate) homelessness & begging is much more visible than in London, recent stories in local of newspaper of teenage gang attacks, cable TV is poor, as is radio (makes you appreciate the BBC radio on the internet service, thanks to the current license payers ) less holiday, lower pay, taxes are similar....etc.etc. Some things are better in the UK, other things are better elsewhere; if you have the opportunity, then experience other places, but don't expect to find instant happiness elsewhere.... http://www.discovervancouver.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=2
