  1. Interesting - it's ok to call people idiots and not morons. Noted and editted!
  2. Just thought I'd register and reply to some of the people that have posted on here with phrases like "fookin idiots IMO for buying in Spain on day one without checking this and that and the other". I actually live very close to the area featured on the second programme and know one person who's house on the same Cantoria estate is one of those going through the courts to see if any demolition order can be halted. So I'd thought I'd fill you in in the FACTS and not GUESSES, as Studio Lambert that recorded this programme for ITV were not allowed, due to ongoing court cases, to delve deeper into the reasons why. I am however hoping this will change with a follow up program in future. But, those houses in Cantoria as mentioned in the programme were purchased by people who ALL used different lawyers and different estate agents. As a result of that happened, most of them are collectively taking out an expensive court case of FRAUD and point the fingers of guilt at the estate agents, builders, town hall, notaries and LAWYERS all who took their money and provided documentation in writing that the houses were legal and came with escrituras, water and electric authorisations, etc etc. This is not the same as the UK - the number of people (i.e. estate agent, lawyer, town hall officials, constructor, notary) at different levels of the process would never all be allowed to fraudulently act together in such a way as what is happening in Spain and has happened to these people. What these poor people found out 2 YEARS afterwards is that a lot of their documentation had been FORGED and that their lawyers were in collusion with the town halls, builders and notaries. These people followed protocol but their documentation and official stamps are not worth the paper they're written on. Now any money they have left or having to be borrowed is being paid to more lawyers to try and protect their homes while the people who lied, cheated and defrauded know that the overfilling courts don't have the time to act quickly allowing many of them to move away and escape future sentencing. Any they are not alone - 10,000 are in the same boat. So try and think outside of the box please and give these people some respect.
