  1. Nice links Cash... And this is why we have to keep pumping oil no matter what price .. even increase production.. just to service the debt.. That value to debt is obscene ratio x20+ ...!! Premier OilShares in this former FTSE 250 company have fallen by 86% over the last year. The firm’s equity is now valued at just £97m ($138m), while its net debt is $2.2bn. EnquestEnquest’s net debt was expected to be $1.55bn at the end of 2015, thanks to the ongoing costs of developing its Alma/Galia and Kraken fields. For 2016, Enquest has hedging in place at $65 to $68 per barrel for 10m barrels of its forecast production. Enquest is due to start repaying debt in 2017. it could take several years for the firm to make much of a dent in $1.55bn of debt.
  2. http://www.stonehouseproperty.co.uk/PropertySearch?pageSize=0&sort=ascending&SelectedAreaId=&eb=1&bedrooms=0&max=10000000 If you look through the history, investment company bought up local Aberdeen letting agencies to consolidate them.. 261 properties available for let.. wow.. at what stage do they think they will reduce prices to actually lease some of them out? http://www.stonehouseproperty.co.uk/yvonne-moir-is-now-stonehouse
  3. https://www.aspc.co.uk/search/property/337866/Flat-G---29-St-Andrew-Street/Aberdeen/ Cheapest 2 bed rental city centre i have seen in a long time especially on ASPC... things to come...??
  4. http://www.acandco.com/newswire/article/investment-in-Aberdeen-economy Seems like £200+ million to be wasted it seems...
  5. http://www.acandco.com/newswire/article/oil-price-impact-on-property How has the oil price drop affected the property market? House prices in Aberdeen and its suburbs have fallen by over the past year, according to new statistics. Figures released today by the Aberdeen Solicitors’ Property Centre (ASPC) show a 2.8% reduction in average sale price between Q4 2015 and the same period last year. However, they also reveal that Ellon has bucked the national trend to record a 1.8% increase. The average north-east price also remains up on five years ago, according to the ASPC. Ellon will only have bucked the trend due to the new build cost registered on the Land Registry.. of course we all know what is on the Land Registry isnt always what the vendor paid..!
  6. Exactly -- a Matco for £70k .. wow wow.. and only 34 years old...!! I know why Aberdeen prices are crazy now and every one driving 4x4s and drinking champagne
  7. Special license so only approved taxis/firms can pick up from the airport...limits the number of taxis available at airport to reduce competition. If you pre-book a taxi without license, you have to walk out of airport and try and get a dodgy pickup
  8. Good offers.. Puerto Rico i think i might have gone for Like a holiday and working
  9. This is the problem with Socialism.. If you give something for free, eventually everyone will want it. This is why socialism always collapses as there are always a few working for those to sit on your back.
  10. Where did you find work abroad? You still in oil and is it better than Aberdeen? Most the people i know still in Aberdeen are all wanting to leave even though have jobs. The winters, cold and darkness just isnt good for family life.
  11. A lot of new hotels build and opened during 2015 so one must take the rate drop into account with the number of rooms now available. Every time i drive past the airport, i am still surprised how many more buildings are going up there. I think there are more hotels approved in the works too throughout aberdeen and aberdeenshire..

  14. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aberdeen/804835/finance-chief-refuses-to-rule-out-tax-increase-in-aberdeen/ And council tax increases as well... The council really needs to get a grip when we look at how much we are paying. It is my highest bill every month.
  15. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/business/north-of-scotland/801302/ian-sutties-first-oil-reportedly-sale-declining-prices-batter-financial-books/ Maybe Suttie is freeing up some time to crack on with his housing development...
  16. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3396092/RBS-issues-sell-alert-fears-mount-10-oil-price.html $10 barrel oil .. that would make things interesting.. Like 2008, chasing all markets down as liquidity dissolves
  17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-35106701 Scotland budget set today with some interesting points: "a tax rise on many second homes and buy-to-let properties through a Land and Buildings Transaction Tax levy." "A new 3% Land and Buildings Transaction Tax levy on the purchase of many second homes from April 2016" "He said that Land and Buildings Transaction tax, which replaced the stamp duty charge on property sales in Scotland, will remain the same for most transactions. But he added: "The exception to this is for buyers purchasing an additional residential property - such as a second home or a buy-to-let - worth more than £40,000, who will face an additional charge of 3% of the value."
  18. Most oil companies I know are still contractor rich.. Noone wants to employ staff - yes they want to to save on costs.. but noone knows where this market is going and wants to have fixed costs. Contractors look way better on the books especially if you can capitalise the costs into Capex rather than having staff opex costs.
  19. http://www.oilandgaspeople.com/news/6313/how-has-the-oil-price-slump-hit-the-north-east-of-scotland/ Some good stats
  20. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aberdeen/734616/n-east-onoil-and-gas-downturn-causes-property-value-to-plummet-in-north-east/ So there is approx 3800 properties for sale and let But according to the Registers of Scotland’s quarterly statistics, Aberdeenshire’s sales dwindled by 13.5% between July and September, to just 1,437 homes being sold. But Aberdeenshire only turns over 1500 a quarter .. so about 3 months supply of houses between Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.. Is that lot?
