  1. Remainers change their tunes as well .. one moment it was the Remainer in Chief promising that Leave would mean 'Leaving' the single market , now remoaners insist that leave means 'not leaving' anything http://www.politico.eu/article/david-cameron-bbc-andrew-marr-ill-pull-uk-out-of-the-single-market-after-brexit-eu-referendum-vote-june-23-consequences-news/ As far as Mercedes is concerned, their loss will be Nissans gain .. dont see why that should influence even aniota of David Davis negotiating position .. For some reason remoaners seem to think the default position should be us begging Mercedes to please sell us their cars as we are keen for them to profit .. access to the UK market apparently shouldnt cost anything and has no price attached ..
  2. The UK must be the most disabled country in the world .. with everything from a bad back to bad behavior classed as a disability .. the genuine disabled will be a minority though everyone of them will think its the others that are not genuine.
  3. The only way that would be a valid argument is if a Brexiter (person who voted Brexit with the expectation of this being a pledge) made the case .. It defies logic for a remainer to put this argument forward
  4. Every brexiter worth his salt knew that ... however it was the 'smart' and 'educated' remainers apparently who fell for it ... and voted 'remain' ??? and they have issues with 'da pledge' .. does not compute .. sorry
  5. And the EU states will stop procreating after Brexit .. that will ensure that there is no further benefit to having FoM after the Brexit date .. wish I knew that one before, wouldnt have voted Brexit
  6. This is pure la la land thinking. It's very likely that the eventual deal will be have downsides and upsides for for both the EU and the UK. However in trade disputes, which is what this effectively is, the smaller party usually carries the majority of the gains in absolute terms. On a per capita basis we can expect the impact of gains on a UK citizen to be about 10 times that on a EU citizen. Gains being 1) No more contributions to the glorified club 2) Higher tax receipts from corporations forced to headquarter here that sell to the UK instead of being based in Dublin and Leichtenstein 3) No more dregs of the EU leeching off the welfare system and other public services Sorry .. no papers to back this up, because it doesnt fit the London 'think tank' agenda..
  7. Agree with the scenario. Actually, I have a very high degree of confidence that we will be begged to rejoin the single market in 10 years time. The question is whether whether the EU will be able to afford the payments needed to be made to the UK to make that possible and how much damage they will have inflicted on themselves and their existence in that time.
  8. No thats unthinkable just like the initial leave was .. this time the vote will be restricted to 'educated' remainers only .. others will be disqualified because they dont know whats good for them .. only the remainers do
  9. There .. thats settled then .. now that we know it .. you know what the UK has to do right ? In a way, yes , if the EU pay us a few billions every year for accessing our markets, I dont see why we should walk away
  10. Brings out the bias in the media and Londonistan very much in the clear .. the 'think tanks', political class and media - the westminster / London bubble heavily let their media bias show and affect their output - The only ones who may have done any research is the EU and they are keeping it under wraps to their advantage unlike our very own press who immediately use any biased 'research' available to bring down the UKs negotiating stance or put it to disadvantage Its surprising that no one has yet come out with figures for how much the EU should be paying us for accessing our markets .. that goes against the collective 'wisdom' .. we have been paying for ages .. so we should continue paying right ? theres shouold be no other possible starting negotiation point right .. its not even possible
  11. I keep making the point .. the 'pledge' was made to brexiters not remaoaners .. yet its the remoaners taking umbrage on behalf of Brexiters .. they never believed in it anyway and voted to remain .. what are they complaining of now :-)
  12. 0 .. in fact they are doing us a favour .. we should get on our knees and beg them to sell their cars to us as no one else in the world will sell us their cars .. they wont even miss our silly customers .. the rest of the EU is yuuuuuuuuuge and will make up for any loss in the rounding error that is the British market Infact we should pay them a few billions every month so they can sell us their cars..
  13. nice try .. this one shows that remoaners are the ones with wishful thinking .. get with the program .. you are outnumbered and soon to be outmaneuvered ..
  14. dont think its negotiation and dont care if it is .. its laying out whats a red line on our side .. walk away if they make a fuss.
  15. http://news.sky.com/story/free-movement-of-people-to-end-in-march-2019-pms-spokesman-says-10968663 spin this one .. the remoaners will have their straws removed from their clutches one by one..
  16. No.. its not the UK they hate .. its just that they are incapable of thought beyond their immediate comfort .. my EU pension/subsidy, my time (5 mins more at immigration control), my pad in spain / france / wherever .. to protect those interests they dont mind trashing the country .. its just collateral to their selfishness
  17. WHere please -- I can see that being the case for tourism but not for work or residency - just like we have restrictions on travel to the US now - Visa free does not equal freedom of movement.
  18. Rather than go into a long post about why thats of no use ..Ill let you work it our for yourself with the scenario below If thats such a good idea, would you recommend we adopt the same system for people outside of the EU ? -- if not, the reasons for your decision will inform you of why thats not practical or helpful in achieving the objective of ensuring that migraton benefits the UK
  19. Clearly you know very little about non-EU migration and the controls we have on it .. most people dont have any issue with vetted migration that is beneficial to the UK .. EU or non EU .. unfortunately vetting before arrival is not an option with the EU
  20. What is this registration, changing benefit system, deportation malarkey you say exist .. point to some place in the EU where its implemented with examples .. Its a chocolate fireguard and everyone knows it .. which is why UK chose not to implement it .. it doesnt prevent anyone from upping sticks , claiming they are self employed, and even an income of selling a few big issues a day would qualify them to gouge the tax payer .. there is no need to dilute the benefits system of this country to keep out the dregs of the EU ..
  21. OK .. what do you financial whizzes know about Euro Clearing .. Why do you think .. 1) Euro clearing is only restricted to the UK because the UK is in Europe ? (Clues - People choose the UK because of our regulatory framework, contract law and skills - We also do Dollar clearing.. else we would have been already subject to competition for euro clearing while we were part of the EU) To do this elsewhere introduces additional costs for market participants 2) We wont make more money from preventing the EU in clearing GBP as a tit for tat Fed up of these one sided arguments and 'fear' .. I hope we exit with 'No deal'
  22. As I said .. its the most controlled that it can be to get only the people that benefit the nation in terms of skills, tax or investment. The numbers are immaterial for that reason alone. But thanks for pointing out that it is heavily skewed by student numbers - the student numbers should be excluded from migration stats impo . I guess they were included only to make the EU numbers look PC Another interesting factoid - Outside EU workers can only be brought in after satisfying the 'resident labour market' test where it has to be proved to the home office that the post advertised couldnt be filled by anyone in the EU. There is a relaxation for 'Intra company transfers' where this stipulation does not apply - but those who arrive on these visas have to be highly paid and cannot settle in the UK on this visa and are time limited for their stay.
