  1. Thanks for the reply. That's very interesting. I was wondering if someone had attempted some kind of destructive assaying but what you suggest makes more sense. The guy I brought it from seems to be a scrap jewelery dealer so it's quite probable that it's from a ring. Do you happen to know what the accepted weight variance is for gold Krugerrands? If what this is is far out then I'll complain as it was advertised as an 1/10th of an ounce coin.
  2. Well I've buckled and invested in a 1/10th once Krugerrand off eBay. I know that it will probably fall in price next year or the year after but just in case I though that I might as well have a small investment in gold. The only problem is that the one I brought seems to be damaged: As you can see there is a small ring of metal missing on the obverse and it isn't up to the expected weight (3.36g vs. 3.93g). My question is does this affect it's value and should I kick up a fuss?
