AndrewR
Here's the link to the BBC article on the undercover estate agent programme tonight (BBC1 9pm): http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4826444.stm I've only read 1/3 of the way through and already feel physically sick. Bingley Bloke
A friend of mine moved to London with his girlfriend about five years ago. She walked into a branch of KFH and asked for a job. They gave her an interview and in due course asked her what motivated her. "Money" she replied boldly. They gave her the job on the spot. I was quite interested by the attitude of EAs, particularly London ones, so I started loking around their web sites. The Foxtons one basically said to be an EA you simply had to want it enough. You needed no experience or specialist knowledge, you just needed to want to make money. It also placed emphasis on the fact that you'd get one of their Minis to drive around in and would be upgraded to a BMW, or similar, upon hitting certain targets. There was also a Porsche for the weekend for the 'seller of the week'. It's been toned-down a little since, but still places the empahises on things that will attract people who are in it purely for themselves. Thing is, isn't it like this everywhere? I mean what about stockbrokers, businessmen etc? None are above being economical with the actualite. It is a dog eat dog world as we are all aware, that's why you need to keep your wits about you and TRY not to get stitched. Don't be a sheep.....Well not all the time Frank
