Those all sound like pretty decent policies to me, you know it is possible to be pro-big business while ensuring the general population have a decent standard of living.

No they didn't, they got elected due to Scotland getting sick of the Labour party and there being no other viable alternative.

You don't know much about Scottish politics do you? Up here most of the Labour and Union movement hate the SNP. In fact the Daily Record (which might as well be called Pravda such is its slavish devotion to the Labour party) refers to them as "Tartan Tories" day in day out.

The SNP and PC are members of the European Free Alliance, who sit with the Green parties in the EU Parliament and advocate greater autonomy for their country or region within the EU. Perhaps you should check your facts before posting?

I would say its pretty clear that if it hadn't imploded the Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty grouping would have been joined by the newly elected BNP MEP's.

However I don't particularly find the distinction between left and right means much if all parties lean towards authoritarianism.

I apologise for getting my EU groupings mixed up. Sinn Fein are in the NGL grouping but not the SNP or the Welsh Nationalists.

However, the fact that the Labour hate the SNP and describe them as 'Tartan Tories' self evidently does not prove that they aren't Socialists - because they clearly are.

And if the Tories were unelectable in Scotland why would anyone vote for 'Tartan Tories' which is why Labour are labelling them in this way.

People in Scotland voted for them because they are Socialists AND Nationalists - History has proved this to be a potent combination.
